Some VR questions

1 - Can i adjust the zoom or its just full zoom or no zoom?

I dont like the view in full zoom.

And i changed the zoom speed.

 

2 - How can i get  external camera in VR, like to see my own plane from outside and those enemy planes crashing.

3 - Is is possible to move the menus forward? They are too close.

4 - Is there a full screen map, its hard to see the rivers in the bigger map as it is now. Hard to navigate that way. I use 2 map sizes.

5 - I think the head position is saved for each plane, the same goes for hotas curves?

1: No.

2: Same way as on monitor. I assign buttons on my HOTAS for my external views. Note on Expert Settings I don't believe it allows external view. I use custom settings.

3: No. You can adjust your seated view by assigning the default view to a button. I believe it is under Pilot Head Control IIRC. Same place as zoom.

4: No.  You can zoom in and out on it with your mouse scroll wheel. This is on large map, M I believe. Or it might be the letter O.

5: No, controller bindings are universal.

3) These lines in startup.cfg adjust the position and curvature of the HUD in VR. I don't know if they affect the map and menus:

 

    or_hud_rad = 1.50000
    or_hud_size = 0.75000

 

4) I was told, but haven't verified that these two lines in the startup.cfg are for map resolution: 

 

    full_height = 2240
    full_width = 2016

 

5a) Head positions are saved per plane via "save current corrections in head snap position" binding found under "pilot head control"

 

5b) I would kill for per plane bindings. @devs please! The best you can do is copy your input folder as saved for each plane and then restart the game with the previously backed up bindings when you wish to fly another model.

Thanks for the replies.

2 - I use custom settings too. Will try the options to see if i can get the camera to work.

3 - When im in the cockpit its fine. My problem is when im not, like after starti the game with the plane in the garage the menu is too close. And in the career menus (HQ, newspaper, etc) they are too close too.

4 - will try the mouse wheel while in the cockpit. The  full_height and full_width is the desktop resolution, dont have anything to do with VR, AFAIK. Used to have that as 640x480 but now i use my monitor resolution. Didnt see any changes in VR.

5 - Right, im using the the F10 to save my head position. Thanks for the hint on the joy settings.
