bmh152abc Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 This is like a complaintish question. Just wondering if this new damage model was applied to ai. I notice while flying against players, a few cannon hits will likely down and aircraft. I've just started a new career and the ai I-16 took at least 25 cannon hits and lots more machine gun hits and it ended up surviving, it was smoking like crazy and I noticed a few control surfaces fall off, but it didn't seem to change the flight characteristics at all. I should note too that this isnt always the case but it does seem to happen a lot. Also, Are the AI effected by gforce? I've gotten g-loc while chasing ai that where definitely pulling more G than me haha

I've gotten g-loc while chasing ai that where definitely pulling more G than me haha AI pilots take G-force for sure and you can see them black out and crash sometimes, although not often since they will usually not make maximum turns at the edge of blackout. You can G-loc before the AI even at a lower or equivalent g-force for a number of reasons, for example if you have been pulling g's for a long time, or if the onset of the g-force is higher than theirs (i.e. you enter a turn more sharply than they do). If you are chasing an AI plane and you are closing the distance, you are almost certainly pulling more g-forces than the AI plane if you pull lead, since you are turning tighter than they are at the same or greater speed. DM is the same regardless of AI and players. AI will generally be better able to compensate for loss of controllability than most pilots. 1
