Sony Vegas for me.

but any video editor will do the job from the cheap seats to the pro stuff.

The old widows video editor wasnt half bad at all, i think theres an open source version out there (free) for modern operating systems. its really all one needed.

hope that helps

I use the video editor in Blender.

Tutorials are here (latest version is 2.8, but the playlist is shorter at the moment than previous versions so check the earlier playlists too).

DaVinci Resolve.

They have a free version that has 99% of the tings you need and it's very advanced.

The paid version has synchronized multi-camera footage and other PRO features that none of us here care about for IL2 videos.

FYI, you can do multi-camera editing in Blender for free but I imagine that Davinci Resolve Pro takes that to the next level and then some. I was playing around with the feature in Blender. I have three tracks, recorded from different angles, displayed in multiple boxes. The multi-camera feature makes it easy to switch between views on the fly.

I use PowerDirector 16, which isn't the latest version, 18 is, been using this editor for the past 5yrs

and not for IL2 which i've yet to record a video of.

Recording a video is one thing, editing a video is an art in itself.

Just upgraded to PowerDirector 18 from PowerDirector 14. If your thinking of upgrading, don’t bother. Complete waste of money if your looking for something different to what you have.

Final Cut Pro X here. It's a bit of a pain to move the files over to my Mac but I use FCPX for my business so it's the edit system I know.

I use TunesKit AceMovi video editor, very easy to use with powerful editing tools. Perfect for beginners.

I am not tech-savvy. I personally make use of a basic video editor called Joyoshare Media Cutter.

I use Hitfilm Pro as it's absolutely chocked full of features but Adobe Premier is the better product stability wise.

Adobe premiere Pro and after effects, Adobe is the most popular editing suite so you will find many tutorials to do anything. It is very powerfull and I learn new tricks everytime I'm making a new video. When I started I didn't knew about Davinci, I think that it is a good choice to, it seems to have evovled quite quick at a very high standard.

Adobe is great, but I don't like this "rent-for-a-month" scheme. Plus, for game videos most of it's features are not necessary, just as Jade_Monkey said. Certainly, it's possible to experiment with the footage, but that's a bit pricey for a simple edit.
Another vote for Davinci, yet interface is a bit overloaded.

Also, as an alternative to iMovie (as it was lagging, plus there were lots of synch issues), I have tried this Video Editor: www.movavi.com/mac-video-editor/ succesfully. Results are decent, plus, there are lots of effects available. But it doesn't require a subscription for this, comparing to AE.

Actually, that was Jade_Monkey's comment. I quoted him.
