Yankee_One Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 scratch work, around the front, and air intake Hi Lothar, i think you meant D-11. The D-13 hadnt any 30 mm in the wings
Jirokoh Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I just remembered I forgot to show you guys my latest model ! :DIt's a 1/72nd two seater straight wing Il-2, with loooots of scratch and some PE (flaps are full scratch, I'm happy and quite proud of them )Oh, and as usual, everything is brush painted ! It was the first time I ever did the riveting, that I did a diorama and figs, and also big biggest scratch work I wanted to see if I could do some winter camouflage work with my paint brushes, and it turned out quite well I think, even if it's far from perfect ! I hope you guys like it ! 7
Buglord Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Jirokoh top job m8 i really like that....
Jirokoh Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Jirokoh top job m8 i really like that.... Thanks!! :D
Cybermat47 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Jirokoh, perhaps we'll see that as a skin in BoK
Jirokoh Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Jirokoh, perhaps we'll see that as a skin in BoK I'd definitely fly it then! That would be so cool to fly the plane I have as model! :D But as you can see, there are no serial number, nore ID number on the plane, I did an Il-2, like one of the 36,163 that were used during the war; so many that we can't possibly know everyone single one of them, other them just being Il-2s

Buglord Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Yeah diorama adds a lot to a model! Ive had to put my diorama`s away as iv`e not got the space at the moment , little tip get it in a display cabinet or maybe a perspex cover as over time the dust etc will get to it , ive recently bought 2 glass display cabinets and spent days cleaning my models and was shocked how much crap came off them they look like new now but ive retired my typhoon (prop one not my jet) as the decals have yellowed due to exposure and its ruined it , repaint for that one...
Jirokoh Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Yeah that dust is a pain in the... ! But I don't really want to invest in a glass display, cause you know, I'm a student and don't have that much money But I sure will do later!
STN Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 1:72 Spitfire LF Mk. IXc, ML135, Jerry Billing, No. 401 Squadron, Tangmere AB, June 7 1944. 5
Buglord Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 yeah display cabinets are not cheap , I only recently just got them .... and i need more because i still cant get all my birds in them and i cant fit my b29 or my catalina in them either... OOOOO very nice STN....... i need to make something with D day strips..
STN Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Yeah.... no more stripes for me. At least for some time.

STN Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Thanks guys, although I screwed up the canopy big time. Anway, time to move on. I hope I get this one right, since the model kit itself has become quite rare in the meantime.
Drum_Tastic Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Wow there is some model making talent here. I have just started again at 50 after not making once since I was a lad. Mine look terrible and there is no way i would show one here, but I am in awe of what you guys are doing, they look so fantastic. Great work guys keep it up!
Irgendjemand Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Awesome guys! I dont have neither the patience nor talent to do such gorgeous work. Only have some 1:72 scale models that were already prebuilt at home.

The most important thing is, that You enjoy it. No use of expecting wonders from Yourself. It is good that You found the way back to model building and You will see the progress with each built kit. 2
