ITAF_Rani Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) 1/72 revell kits..handly painted with brushes... I used metal wires (caming from an anti mosquito net) to insert front of machine guns Edited April 28, 2016 by ITAF_Rani
STN Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 1/72 Klemm KL 35B (AZ Model) National Guard Aviation, Kaunas Airfield, Lithuania 1939 Intended the build to be a nice and easy one, but got a filler purgatory instead. I would recommend the kit to anyone who would like to punish himself for doing something awful. 7
carts Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Beautiful model of a lovely aircraft,Ive struggled with some short run kits,I feel your pain!
Orfanik Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Really beautiful models in previous posts. I apologize in advance for my English. Here are some of my creations in 1/32 scale. They are really old. I think I did about 25 years ago. They are built with no supplements, no preparations on decals and painted with a brush. Since then I have not built anything. But when I see in previous posts such beautiful models, I probably buy some and try to build it using all the existing possibilities. Also, I can say that the construction of models prepared me for my current job, in which repairing old cars. I am currently working on veterans Fiat Mirafiori and it's the same as build a model. Just on a larger scale. 7
Buglord Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Great to see something unusual STN. Top job m8. For 25 years old they look in great shape pilsner.
voncrapenhauser Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Great work von, ive always preferred the cylon mk1 ships , the new cylon fighters look ok but i like the old style one. The same goes for the vipers. Thanks for the comments. Yes love the new series more than old but the old designs are my preference too. Will probably get the 32nd Raptor when Mobius releases it. BTW the lights on the Aerial HK were a real squeeze to fit especially the tail markers, a good mate of mine did the electrics for me as with the Raiders pulsating engines too. Also Just finished my 22" Eagle only a few hours ago too. SWEET! Dr1s Rani. and Klem too STN. Nice collection of 32nds too pilsner....especially like the fabric detail on the 109's rudder. Nice to hear the Mirafiori is still around, I used to work on those a few years back, would love to see some pictures too. Edited May 4, 2016 by voncrapenhauser 5
Buglord Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Space 1999 that takes me back , i had the diecast version of this when i was kid. Great work . I would like to have the earth force omega class destroyer off babylon 5 and a starfury but they are quite rare kits to get hold off and their not cheap.
voncrapenhauser Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 I had the Dinky Eagles too. Built the old AMT/Airfix/MPC 1/72nd scale eagle which is also available again with a deluxe version for a long range Eagle conversion. The old 1/72nd scale Eagle is also very inaccurate in shape. The New 22" MPC/Round 2 Kit is a spot on scaled down model of the 44" filming miniatures from the show. Agreed the Starfury kit from Monogram is not too hard to find on Ebay but as you say it is always expensive even though this kit is not very accurate in shape. There is little choice between that and a little larger more expensive resin model released a while back. Think there are The larger ship models available from B5 too in resin but they are even more rare.
Buglord Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Hmmmm look what i just found on e-bay, i looked on there a few weeks ago and there was nothing. Have not got the money at the moment , just spent £750 on my daughters school skiing trip to italy, :o: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Babylon-5-Earthforce-Destroyer-Agamemnon-Warp-Model-Kit-/172184532025?hash=item2816ff7439:g:9ksAAOSwWTRWxLPz
carts Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Nice chunk of Resin,I dont often build Spaceship models, but when I do,they tend to be from Alien\Aliens. All Halcyon that I had in the stash for nearly 20 years! And my favourite, resin and fibreglass 1-1 scale, took forever and a day to finish! Did I mention that I liked Alien? 5
Buglord Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I was wondering when your alien stuff would show up didnt know you had one of the guns thou. Impressive work.
voncrapenhauser Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Sweet! Alien stuff there all those kits are a challenge to build half decent result, especially the drop ship. Here is my Narcissus I sold a while back. My Narcissus is from the second movie prop, so hence why it's covered in crap A good mate of mine had the rifle too it was a terrible kit, bent like a banana , so my hats off to you for finishing them all so well. STN Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 1:72 Fw 190A-8 (Eduard) Obstlt. Josef Priller, JG 26, Rambouillet, France, Summer 1944 There are some grave marking inaccuracies which I am aware of. I used decals from Peddinghaus, which showed not to be the luckiest of choices. The kit itself was a pleasure to build. 7
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Great work! I'm trying to get back into this after a very successful Mirage 2000C in 2005 and a disastrous Spitfire Mk. I in 2008. Got myself a MiG-3 and the tools of the trade, hopefully it will turn out good enough to share here 1
Feathered_IV Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 A Tempest in a teacup This is one of the 1/144 trading kits put out by Platz/F-toys of Japan. Still working on it, but it's coming along. New canopy, reduced and reworked panel lines, new spinner and prop, cockpit detail etc. 5
Buglord Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Wow that is diddycoy nice paint job on that scale m8. 1
Jirokoh Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Wow, that 1/72nd FW-190 looks awesome !! Great job ! :D
Feathered_IV Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Getting there. Starting to get some very fine washes and weathering onto it with scrapings from the leads from Derwent watercolour pencils, diluted in water and applied with a 000 brush. I do believe I might actually finish two models this year. A personal record! 6
sallee Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Nothing but admiration here, Feathered. That's beautiful. Can you turn it into a tie pin for me? Can we see some other angles, or does it say, "this has caused my madness" in funny, spidery writing in your own blood on the underside of the wings? 1
sallee Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 My latest lumpen work in progress. Bit of a French tank obsession at the moment. 5
Buglord Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Great work sallee, really like the rust ,you have got that spot on ... chains is a nice touch..
Smouch Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 A few shots of some of my work. The 109's all belong to Jg 27 at various time periods; 6
Smouch Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) And... Spitfires that went to 453 squadron R.A.A.F Edited September 11, 2017 by Smouch 5
voncrapenhauser Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 Nice models there smouch, lovin the Spits 1
Smouch Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Nice models there smouch, lovin the Spits Thanks mate, FU-F was flown by Sqdn Leader John Ratten. From what I have found out about him he was born Railton here in Tasmania. FU-C was flown by Colin "Rusty" Leith AM DFC. This one he claimed 2 Bf 110's over the channel. FU-D he flew claiming a 109, running out of fuel and crash landing in France. 1
Smouch Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Here are some shots of my second attempt at a Diorama. The tanks is Tamiya's 1/35 Panther Ausf A, with the following extras: Friulmodels ATL-08 tracks, Verlinden #2776 German WWII Tanker Camping Grounds, Miniart 35132 Tank Crew Royal Model Tow Rope Grass was laid down with the aid of a static grass applicator. Predominatley used Lifecolor paints with some Humbrol and the mud was from Citadel. Cheers ~S~ 5
sallee Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Very nice. I've just started on the dark art of dioramas myself. It's great fun! On that one with the char b1 bis I'm using coats of rain effects on the wall to give the impression that someone has taken a leak against it. It is France, after all.
Feathered_IV Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Nothing but admiration here, Feathered. That's beautiful. Can you turn it into a tie pin for me? Can we see some other angles, or does it say, "this has caused my madness" in funny, spidery writing in your own blood on the underside of the wings? Aw okay. Here's a very quick shot from another angle, along with its opposing number. Still lots of little details to add and paint though. Hoping to have both completed by the end of the month as part of a group build at kampfgruppe144.com 5
