sallee Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 That's a gorgeous T34, Buglord. Real texture. Custard! What can I say? Lovely work. I've just started doing some figures as well. My 11 year old son is very much into all things Napoleonic and is doing a lot of figures, so I've joined in. I'll show him yours so he can see what we have to aim for!
Buglord Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Thanks everyone, i did not want to go over the top on the weathering so by what you guys have said i`ve got it just right Custard tip top job on that m8. some delicate painting there.
6./ZG26_Custard Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Thanks for the kind comments gents, there is some wonderful modelling on display in this thread. Regards Custard
6./ZG26_Custard Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Here are a couple more Napoleonic figures, A polish lancer 1815 and a trumpeter of the 13th Hussars 1813 and a US soldier circa 1991 Hope you like them. 1 3
sallee Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I'm assuming 28mm?.... Those are stunning. What are they? Verlinden?
No_85_Gramps Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Fantastic! I did the Polish Lancer from the Airfix kit in 54 mm back in 1976! I gave it to a friend, thanks for bringing back a good memory!. As far as scale goes I guessing something in the 90 to 100 mm range?
6./ZG26_Custard Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Thank you sallee The US soldier is Verlinden and made from resin. The two Napoleonic figures are white metal produced by Ray Lamb who unfortunately has now retired from making kits. The Verlinden is around 75mm and the others 2 are about 80mm. Something I did from a very long time ago. 28mm Warhammer 40k figures. Fantastic! I did the Polish Lancer from the Airfix kit in 54 mm back in 1976! I gave it to a friend, thanks for bringing back a good memory!. As far as scale goes I guessing something in the 90 to 100 mm range? Do you have any figures to show us Gramps? 1
No_85_Gramps Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 No. Haven't done figures in years. I'm working on a King Tiger that is ready for paint. I'll get to it in a few days...I hope. Here is a Panzer I that I built in 78/79, don't know why this one survived but it did. 3

voncrapenhauser Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 Sorry it's not an aircraft or vehicle but seeing as we are approaching the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, I thought I would post my take on a drummer of the Coldsteam guards. Regards Custard Cracking job Custard. Models of all subjects are welcome. voncrapenhauser Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 I'm not too good at figures but here's a couple I did a while ago now. 1
STN Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 German submachine gunner. Tamiya 1:16 scale. Made a few years ago.Pictures are unfortunately not fantastic. 3
voncrapenhauser Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Nicely done there. Especially like the gas mask case and water bottle detail.....not overdone on the weathering...sweet!. Edited July 22, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
STN Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Thank You for Your kind words. I think I should give it a second try. This is the first model, where I tried some "shadowing" and "wash". The result is as it is. P.S.: If I remember right, the water bottle is covered in flour to get some structure.

Nice outcome on the flour then. I must try that when thinking on adding texture on models, Thanks for the info. Some of my work: 1/32 SE5a: Nice! SE 5. SE 5 was always a favourite WW I fighter of mine, excellent pilot too. Loving the scramble pic too.....Nice! Edited July 30, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
voncrapenhauser Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Nice snow on that Sherman. SPV project on hold ATM. Gone big scale with a Pocher 1/8th scale Lamborghini Aventador. Just finished it. Added carpets and painted some parts correctly too. Also building 1/8th Lamborghini Countach Part work by De agostini too. Some detailing here and there needed. No_85_Gramps Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Wow! Such detail, your build looks amazing!
voncrapenhauser Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the compliments. Its a great kit but definitely not for beginners as I had a few head scratching moments on this one I will admit. Edited October 28, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
No_85_Gramps Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Another show-stopper! Extremely nice, even more so given it's 1/72d!
voncrapenhauser Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Avia B-534, series III, 1/72 Awesome...love it.
Buglord Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I see people have been busy. Great work all.
STN Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 ...and since we won´t get this one in BoS/BoM anytime soon, I have started working on this plump beauty 4
Buglord Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 mmmm 262 excellent work on the interior STN.. ive just finished a 1/48 RAF Catalina MK1, will take some pics of it this week...
STN Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Looking forward to it. As a matter of fact, I have been looking at a 1/72 Catalina from Academy at a local model shop just yesterday.
Buglord Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 What scheme are you doing for your catalina...
Buglord Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) 1/48 Catalina Mk1 RAF 209 squadron... Edited July 16, 2017 by Buglord 5
Cybermat47 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 That Catalina is superb! I almost always mess up struts - I think the only time I got them right was on my 1/72 Hs-123 By the way, does anyone know where I can find a 1/72 Il-2 model 1942?
No_85_Gramps Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Well done Buglord! Looks fantastic! Cybermat - there are four or five different kits of the IL-2 in 1/72. Not sure if any are the 1942 model. The Tamiya offering gets good reviews. In addition Airfix, Academy, Eduard and some others have kits in 1/72.
No_85_Gramps Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Okay, Zvezda makes a model 1942 in 1/72. 1
STN Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 What scheme are you doing for your catalina... I was looking at a Catalina in the model store.... but... somehow I managed to mess up and take home something completely different.
Cybermat47 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Okay, Zvezda makes a model 1942 in 1/72. Thank you, I'll check it out as soon as I finish my He-111, Ju-88, Ar-196, Fw-190, Bf-109, Spitfire (2 of them), Lancaster, Hurricane, Ju-87, German Infantry, American Infantry, Sturmpanzer IV, Schwimmwagen, Type VII-B U-boat, Bismarck, and Type XXI U-boat. Got a lot of work ahead 1

Got a lot of work ahead Lol! At some point we become model kit collectors and not builders. I'm sure I have over a 100 unbuilt kits, some dating back to the late seventies. I'm retired now and still have trouble finding time to get on with my modeling. My wife has had me tied up with building her a 1" scale dollhouse, it's done, but now I'm in the middle of making her a gazebo to go along with it. Between BOS, ROF, DCS, modeling, and normal day-to-day chores I'm as busy as can be. I have a 1/48 Yak and a 1/48 Gaz Quad Maxim AAA truck that I want to get started on, maybe a mini diorama in the making. Whatever it is you are doing just remember to have fun! 1
