But I saw a cheap Airfix 1/24 hellcat, the highest bid was low, so I bid on it. I ended up winning the thing for $70. My wife is going to be pissed when that turns up. Gotta loft?, garage,?Or any where to hide under the bed?until later, then its "oh this old kit I had it for ages" try to wear a halo at the time though. 1 hour ago, STN said: Done. Happy to have this one off the table. It is a gorgeous plane and would deserve a better quality kit. Knarley-Bob Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I built this a few years back. I sorta copied the bird on the cover of Time/Life book "Knights of the Air" One day I'd like to get a bird for FC skinned this way. I've seen Goring's bird, but this one is mine. KB 5
voncrapenhauser Posted April 3, 2020 Author Posted April 3, 2020 Kool R/C Bob. Brings back memories of my SE5a Electric.

Hotel ,Charlie ,X ray at Devon and somerset gliding club a truly excellent aircraft to learn in ...Very forgiving.. Custom Decals by my best mate. Edited April 3, 2020 by voncrapenhauser 5 3
Hoots Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Lovely aircraft to fly, and tough as old boots for aerobatics. Concrete swan in the background too 1
voncrapenhauser Posted April 4, 2020 Author Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) Yes, will always be my favorite as my 1st solo. If the ask21 was the grand tour er, I loved flying the junior as it seemed more like a sorts car ....way more maneuverable . I loved the K13 also because of its canvas old school charm when it creaked as you turned in thermals. Edited April 4, 2020 by voncrapenhauser 1

Pinball Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Long time lurker here. After a past history of building wh40k sets, my interest in making model kits rekindled, but in a slightly different setting. So I wanted to show the community here my latest build. Which is a Revell type VII C/41 scala 1:144. This was the first time I used E Z Line and photoetched parts. Unfortunately, the photoetched parts belonged to an earlier version of Revell's Type VII, so they were not adapted to the ``Wintergarten version´´. But all in all, an experience that I learned a lot from. 9 2
40plus Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I'm going to take a break from the IL-2 kit that I'm building to try something new. I've bought these 3D printed I-16s in 1:200 scale to use in my Wings of Glory table top game. This will be an exercise in painting small. I haven't decided if I will paint them all as part of one cohesive squadron or do a selection of schemes including winter. It should be a lot of fun in any case. I'll be sure to post up progress as I go. Here they are with a selection of my official game models, all in 1:200. I have a couple more coming in the mail. A Lancaster Mk III and a Yak-1, both official models. I also have 2 B-25s and 2 JU-88 model kits in 1:200 that I hope to add to my game collection. Does anyone else play this? I'm just getting started. 1 2
SYN_Mike77 Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 This isn't plastic but, good lord I've never seen anything like the fidelity in any type of model before! 2 3

STN Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Some nice colours added. Not sure about the thick red chevron on the rudder though. Maybe I misinterpreted the photos of this machine. 3 2

voncrapenhauser Posted April 25, 2020 Author Posted April 25, 2020 (edited) Nice one Superflyer. I like model aircraft depicted in photo's. Shows a true aircraft rather than what records or regulations say should be the correct scheme. Actual aircraft actually in service. Edited April 25, 2020 by voncrapenhauser
