sallee Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Lovely work, STN. A really difficult camouflage pattern. That's amazing airbrush work. Thanks, von C. Far better than I was as well. I did tell him and he was really chuffed!

And my 9-year-old son and I have been doing parallel Brummbars... Nearly done. The apple does not fall far from the tree... outstanding stuff. When I was nine I could barely piece together an Airfix before putting a banger in it to enjoy the destruction! I hope it will not be too much of a shock when he decides scale modelling is naff and interfering with his sexting or whatever it will be in a few years time. 1
Smouch Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Nice job there STN excellent. Lovely work, STN. A really difficult camouflage pattern. That's amazing airbrush work. Agree with Sallee and von... Very tidy piece of work STN
STN Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Thanks guys. Although I must admit, it did not come out as planned. There were supposed to be less streaks, wider ones and differently shaped. I noticed after I had one wing finished, so decided to just continue.

Smouch Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Been a while since I added some shots, so here we go It's a 1/48 Albion 3 Point Fueller by Airfix. Nice kit to build. Eventually it will be part of a diorama. Thanks for looking 4
sallee Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Handsome little fellah. Very nice. Looking forward to the reveal.

STN Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Started something smaller this time. I began with the engine- Walter NZ-60. From left to right- 1.what was in the box, 2. after I added some details, 3. and caked it with paint 3

But don't ask me to recognise it when it's finished.
STN Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Yep, another 2 seat trainer from the golden thirties. Still deciding which colour scheme to apply.
sallee Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Beautiful. Something very lovely about that interwar design and aesthetic.
STN Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Avia BH-11.10, OK-AZG, Aeroklub Plzen, late thirties 1:72 Kovozavody Prostejov There are some inaccuracies, but overall I enjoyed the kit a lot. It was fun adding a few details here and there 7
Buglord Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Great work everybody.. ive been busy with work but my crusader is not far off ...
Smouch Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Adding to the Albion (see earlier post), The figures are Eduard's 1/48 RAF Fighter crew (kit 8507). the Hurricane is one of Airfix's earlier kits. The Hurri will not be part of the dio as the kit had a one piece canopy. I cut it to have it the open position, however not trying to ruin it when I heat it to fit, I decided to build another Hurri Cheers 3
KakTyc Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This is my extreme model. BF-109G-2 Hermann Graf.9./JG-52 5
Feathered_IV Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Wow, nice job KakTyc, it doesn't get much better than that. Welcome aboard too!
sallee Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Should be a good ensemble, Smouch. Lovely Panther, Baron. The tracks are the business. KakTyc, that is one of those ones where you can't guess the scale! Gorgeous.

voncrapenhauser Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Nice jobs all. The Panther was always one of my favourite armour designs. Love the 109 Kac tyc mate. Will post more pic,s of my Jag as soon as this months parts arrive.
voncrapenhauser Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 Latest E type parts. Front chassis/engine and suspension bearers assembled, touched up and engine test fit. 1
sallee Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 That is some lump of an engine! Am I allowed to say that, of the two most beautiful cars ever made, the E type and the Citroen DS, the more beautiful is the DS? .....I'll get my coat....
voncrapenhauser Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) It is said that even Enzo Ferrari claimed The E type was the most beautiful car ever designed. The DS or The Maserati powered Citroen SM are truly beautiful also. I am on the fence on this one as The Lamborghini Miura is my favourite.(That's The Green one if anyone did not know). You all decide for yourselves. Edited September 15, 2017 by voncrapenhauser 1
Smouch Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Lovely work! A question for everyone, A kit that I have been working on had some of Tamiya's masking tape left on for a long period and has I think the glue has discoloured the paint it was covering. Apart from a respray, is there any way of undoing the damage easily? Smouch

Smouch Not so sure if it will work on long term tape, but in short term when I have used Tamiya tape I have waited until paint is fully dry then lightly rub off glue with acrylic thinners on a soft cloth. Don't try cellulose thinners though that will strip most paints off completely. Edited September 15, 2017 by voncrapenhauser 1
Feathered_IV Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Splendid work fellas. Here's another little one from me. I managed to get one of the 1/144 I-15's from Armory and have been converting it to my one true love: the I-153 New cowling and modified fuselage & wings etc. etc. And some photo etch. Without the photos. Or the etch... 3

Feathered_IV Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Now you're just being silly.... Can't stop now! I was pretty worried about the silver finish as I've never done a proper metallic before. It worked out quite well though. I used Gunze aluminium with a bit of white to get the silver doped look. The paint covers amazingly well, so I've got heaps of the stuff left over. Need to do some washes and add a prop, wheel doors and windscreen etc. Probably some rigging too I suppose... 6
Danziger Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 You need to do a 1/144 airfield diorama.
