Buglord Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Really hope a lot of enjoyment for you... my stash has some challenging objects too as the MIG 23MF Flogger B from Trumpeter for example. Btw. I built the Tauro model of the Macchi MC 205 20 years ago... my god, very frustrating project which landed right away on the kitchen wall just before the final touch. Hope your model won't end up like mine... Cheers Thanks for the heads up on the macchi...
Buglord Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Wip still lots to do yet...... enjoying making some armour for a change... 1
THERION Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the heads up on the macchi... Sorry mate, didn't mean to discourage you... - hope your kit is better than the one I got then... Very nice work so far, great... I did some weathering too this afternoon - still lot of work to do, so still WIP. Edited April 9, 2017 by Therion 3
Buglord Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 No worries m8 .... What is that beast ,its french that`s all i know .... anyway it looks great
THERION Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 You're right it is French, it's the AMX-10RCR SEPAR (2000 update) Heavy Tank Destroyer. It was actually deployed and used in Afghanistan and Mali - issued to regular French army and the foreign legion. 1
Buglord Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 (edited) Its been a bit quiet in here lately .... 1/35 GMC Bofors 40mm of the free french. Enjoyed building armour again Edited July 16, 2017 by Buglord 6
voncrapenhauser Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Nice bofors there Bug nice rusty chassis too. Been busy on my partworks at the moment 1/8th Countach,E type Jag and testing the 1/18th 28 inches long, x wing by De Agostini too. Will probably repaint the X wing though as paint on parts will probably not match. Incidentally the spoke wheels on the E type have separate spokes and are a SOB to fit but look excellent unlike the wheels on my 1/8th DB 5. . Edited May 7, 2017 by voncrapenhauser 1
Buglord Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Thanks everyone.... looking forward to seeing the jag von..... Just bagged a Tamiya Tiger one so i might start on that next or my lagg 3 i have in the stash.
XQ_Lothar29 Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Ki-27 Nate 1/48 Hasegawa Great model, although the Molde is from the 80's and I had some problems because of the antiquity of the decals, the plane itself is perfect the interiors a few, good normal to be from the 80, but no problem to highlight .. Feathered_IV Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Fabulous work gents. Especially your Ki-27 Lothar. What a great looking result! 1

sallee Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Lovely Nate, and one of my favourite aircraft as well. 1
sallee Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I managed to get hold of an old Tamiya Matilda (number 24) as I'm trying to build some models which I started but failed to complete when I was younger. Here she is, ready for a tidy up before decals and weathering. The kit was so old that the decals had turned into something resembling Tutankhamen's scrotum. Ironically I have now bought the new version for the decals! 3
Buglord Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Looking good m8.. thats the trouble with old kits the decals die a yellow death ... and fall apart..
voncrapenhauser Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) Nice matilda and Nate there guys the weathering especially looks good. Old decals are a pain to be right, sometimes decalsol can save them though. Got the final parts to my Countach, the Body is all in one piece, just have to mate it with the chassis and drivetrain, put on the wheels and spoiler, polish it up, display case on order and then build another two shelves for it and the E type when that's finished in about 23 months...... sheesh! But will have more time for other projects now, Hmmm? maybe its time for that 24th scale Hawker Typhoon I got for Christmas....two years ago?. E Type as it stands , already repainted engine parts as did not look too good as standard. Edited May 12, 2017 by voncrapenhauser 2

Uufflakke Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 That's... small. Is it coincidence or not you used that coin? Because in 1940 the Defiant came into combat action for the first time.
sallee Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 I was going to ask for an update on the Defiant! Just gorgeous work, Feathered. And I think he does use contemporary coins for his builds!
XQ_Lothar29 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Boing P-26A PeaShooter 1/48 ACADEMY I hope you enjoy this great airplane video for clean oil paint: Another video showing how I put the decals: The whole process of painting and dirt construction:-------- http://maquetas.mforos.com/1642591/9332386-boing-p-26a-peashooter-1-48-academy/ 5
Feathered_IV Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Hi Uufflakke, the coin was deliberate, as I quite like having something nearby from the same period for scale. I collected a few over the years with a mind to using them alongside some other projects. I have an especially nice 1939 one from Poland that I'd like to use with a scratchbuilt P.11c, plus a few others of various years and nationalities. I managed to get the rest of the masking and painting done over the last few days and its looking a lot more defianty with the roundels on. I discovered a useful tip while doing so that I thought I'd pass on: If you mount several tiny parts on the end of a brush handle for painting - don't absently pick up that same brush a few minutes later and use it to stir a pot of paint... 2
sallee Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Just wait while I write that down...if you mount several..good tip.
voncrapenhauser Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) Countach finished. Only took nearly two years, sheesh! Can get back to some proper model building now lol. Edited May 19, 2017 by voncrapenhauser 4
sallee Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Very nice. Are you sure you haven't just made some 12/1 scale furniture? 1
voncrapenhauser Posted May 20, 2017 Author Posted May 20, 2017 Very nice. Are you sure you haven't just made some 12/1 scale furniture? Now that would be a strange subject matter lol.
sallee Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Not quite finished and I'm not sure I'm too happy with the result, but at least I have another one to have a go at now! 7
Feathered_IV Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Damn! That looks fantastic. I can't imagine what you wouldn't be happy with. The finish looks spot on. Particularly the darkening along the edges of the of the hull where the crew have been clambering about. It looks like they are going to emerge at any moment and have a cuppa char. 1
unreasonable Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I am impressed with how "Western Desertish" your background looks. Wadi Brikn Morta. (The Matilda looks terrific as well). 2
sallee Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Very nice of you both. Looks a bit shaky next to some of the other stuff on here!
Buglord Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I see everyones been busy , great work done by all Like the matilda , weathering is just about right in my opinion. Tank commander looks good, im pants at figures that`s why you never see any with my armour lol. That Countach must have cost a fair few quid m8. I see the mini defiant is not far of now . Peashooter looks great.... 1
Buglord Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Im painting tiger wheels at the moment...... theirs loads of them but been using a trick i found on a modelling site , Paint the black rubber parts first then use one of those circular stencil templates to paint the wheels, its a lot more precise and a lot quicker.
