GOA_Karaya_VR Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Good day Pilots, wishing you the best in this quarantine. A few days ago I bought for a very cheap price a complete kit of oculus rift cv1, which I immediately thought to be able to use it in Il2 BOX, luckily for having never had the opportunity to fly in VR it was extremely fascinating, I don't even have words to describe the experience. However, the performance was not the best in terms of frames per second and shuttering, my query is the following: Some VR Pilots around here currently uses Oculus Rift CV1? , and in what way can I get the most out of it to use it in Il- 2. Thank you!

dburne Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Firs thing to try, is using Open Composite rather than Steam VR. It typical gives better performance of Oculus Headsets. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/9nxixe/systemwide_installation_for_opencomposite_released/ Once installed you just use the switcher, to switch the rendering from Steam VR to Open Composite. Try using FXAA rather than MSAA in the game and see how it does for you. You can get the Oculus Tray Tool here:https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/47247/oculus-traytool-supersampling-profiles-hmd-disconnect-fixes-hopefully/p1 That is a good third party app that will allow you to set SS levels for the game, just create a profile and point it to IL-2.exe. I would try SS at 1.2 to start. I would try the above, using the High preset settings in the game and see how it does.

GOA_Karaya_VR Posted May 28, 2020 Author Posted May 28, 2020 Dburne , i did exactly what you says, and it improves alot! ( in terms of flickering/Shutter is less with the change of FXAA rather than MSAA ). I installed the program and set to 1.2 the SS, and runs better. Thank you very much! -S-
