CB77Don246 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 How dos one steer the P38 for taxing to the runway I do not see any key in the Plane control setting my P38 just go's round and round rudder pedals do not steer it.
Chief_Mouser Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) The P-38 is one of the easiest planes to taxi and the rudder steers it just fine. However, if you want to do a really sharp turn then rudder+brakes helps. At the risk of being facetious, if it goes round and round then you have only one engine working properly. If indeed both are running then check the pitch - fully forward for both engines. Edited May 27, 2020 by 216th_Cat
CB77Don246 Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) Thanks for the reply so how do's the front wheel steer is it linked to the rudders ? I have just tried the P39 and that steers ok Edited May 27, 2020 by CB77Don246
FlyingH Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 The P38 has a castoring nosewheel, which means you need to steer with different engine power/wheelbrake. If you only go round and round check that you have both engines active.
CB77Don246 Posted June 4, 2020 Author Posted June 4, 2020 I just have all the settings on easy at least I can enjoy the plane. thanks all for the reply's.
