Skins prior to 4.006

I saw a few skin creators updating skins to be compatible with the new patch changes.

 

Do they really need it or is it just very slight tweaks?

 

Just wondering if the older skins will still look perfect and I can grab them now, or I should wait and only grab the new/updated skins...

Just tweaks. The lighting of the game changed and the skins have less reflections than before.  Some skins were made more mate to compensate for that excessive reflexivity, the game had and now those are a bit too mate and the surface doesn't look like painted metal anymore, but dry cloth.

  I think that's why you see skins being updated.

I've been really surprised by how good most of the old skins look in 4.006. Was using a P47 skin yesterday - one of the few with olive green drab paint, ands it looked amazing - absolutely flat matt green paint, with incredibly realistic metal showing through the scratches in the paintwork. Looked extremely real.

 

Same for some Lagg skins i use regularly - looking much better now, mainly due to the flat camouflage paint  looking great. Really does look like paint over a metal surface

That's great, I'm downloading some now trying to find some 4k La-5 and La-5FN doesn't seem to be many around

The La-5 and La-5FN just got new templates few days ago. I bet there are a lot of skins being worked on right now.

This is the P47 flat olive drab skin I talked about. One of a pack of 3 by Pat Cartier (the other 2 being silver metal finish). Looks wonderful in game.

 

If you at all like the P-47, give it a try.

 

I hope to see some new La-5 skins soon too.

Thanks I'll grab it later. I'm not up to the P-47 yet I'm still learning the Moscow/Stalingrad aircraft and working my way up.
