Mysticpuma Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Jason and teams. Although it is of-course sad that Cliffs of Dover has 'died', at-least development on WW2 theatres have been taken up by the merger of both teams. My first question isn't really so-much about the game itself, I'm just a little intrigued to know what specialties/skills you have gained from the staff you have taken on from 1C? I'm just wondering if the team you are now in charge of from 1C are mainly the programmers for Physics (FM + DM) or are they they more modellers and graphic engine team? I'm interested to know what you hope to achieve as your first milestone in the new development, whether it be aircraft models or enhancments to the graphics engine? If I may ask as-well, although the first era is to be Stalingrad, is it possible to import the 3D models from Cliffs of Dover and tweak them to fit a later add-on, or has everything got to be worked from 'scratch'? Although the RoF game engine is stable and looks considerably better than the modified IL2 (due to dynamic lighting and excellent clouds!), Cliffs of Dover had some really excellent effects with it's lighting, particle hit debris (orginal release version), water and exceptional damage modelling. Can we expect in the next two-years that the graphics engine/particle engine will be re-worked/updated and also will it be able to take a higher polygon count for more detailed aircraft/ground models? Can I just say that of all the things I am most looking forward to is the actual updating of information to the forum users on a regular basis. This was one of, if not the most frustrating thing over at the 1C forums. Many questions were asked (and ignored) but of-all the irritants it was the creation of a bug thread where users posted issues they had found and nearly two-years after it's creation we were told it hadn't even been read by the team! I know from your track record that this is not going to be an issue and your customer service in this genre is second to none! Well done guys Finally, can I ask what we may expect to see in the realms of skinning the aircraft> Will there be templates released in 2048x2048 size with bump and shadow map detail layers? I know it's a while off, but if I don't ask, I don't get told Best wishes for the future of your series. I've loved the fact you have concentrated as-much on offline as you have for the online players. I look forward to many more years in the virtual skies, cheers, MP
