Career Mode - Do AI kills have an effect?

If we kill 3 ai planes, is there an effect on the AI squadron's operational ability? Will their pilot and plane count go down?

If you play Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator, it will. But you have to be aware, that like IRL there will be replacements, as long as the enemy has enough aircrafts of the type you destroyed, in the depot, which gets filled up from time to time. Same will be with pilots, but here the advantage for you is, if you kill, seriously wound, or shoot them down over your own territory, higher ranks, they usually get replaced by lower ranks, who then have to build up skills, to be as effective as the ones you killed. Same counts of course for your own side, so you should try to save your higher ranks pilots.
