Raven109 Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 (edited) I don't think there is a debate, really... people who enjoy casual, can get together and setup a casual server, just like the people who lean towards realism did. Together they will have a louder voice when asking for casual features for their servers. Have a server with icons turned on, or other settings which cannot be found on the current set of servers. If people enjoy such settings, they will join that server. Edited May 29, 2020 by Raven109

I’m actually surprised that there aren’t more casual or “Normal” servers. I did actually prefer that style when I was new to this back in RoF and I suspect most new players do. It would only be natural. It’s as if this game doesn’t attract new players. Or perhaps new players come to IL-2 from War Thunder where that style is already the norm and they want something different.

Combat Box was set up by War Thunder refugees. It's one of the things that helped us develop our dynamic mission design.
Pikestance Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 Well, if the developers would allow for icons to be reduced to a triangle or a circle or a color or a simple neutral color, then casual servers will be sparse. What they have now is so over the top it is impossible to convince yourself that you enjoy immersive play. 1
