The most anticipated sim accessory :)

Will it be practical to place two of these side by side, perhaps facing opposite directions, to functionally get single mixture-throttle-throttle-mixture block? I'd like to have view zoom, throttle1, throtle 2, mixture levers grouped together from left to right.

Thanks Trupo!

Yes, mounting two quadrants side by side should be very doable! I can probably make a bracket to attach two quadrants together without the need for two complete units and two desk clamps, which would reduce the total cost for you :) PM me to discuss if you're interested!

That's great news. The grips look awesome and I'd love to use that on my vkb gunfighter.

I might be experimenting with aluminum tube bending and welding in the next few weeks as a first step to making an Albatros grip happen... I can't promise anything yet, but stay tuned!

Think again rickenbecker. We don't want to give Alby pilots any kind of advantage. This is not a game you know. There's a war on.

Seriously, this is amazing stuff man.

Hope you've been able to keep your hair trimmed to RFC regs during Covid and your legs well covered.

That could be a pretty eye-watering experience.  Just use it for its designed purpose.

I just got my VRSimpit throttle to go with my Sopwith grip...WOW!  It is just like the real thing.  I'm floored at how nicely these are done.  It beat my expectations by a mile. I can't wait for the next WWI event so I can take my rig and let people try their hand at a WWI flying experience.

Thanks for the review Chill! Realism and quality are my goals :salute:

Production is ramping up as we speak and units will be available for purchase shortly, so stay tuned!

VRSimpits Tampier Quadrant Pre-Order is Open!

Greetings All,

The first production run of five Tampier units is in process now, and on track to be ready to ship towards the end of this month, with subsequent production runs hopefully occurring monthly thereafter!

I have received a very high level of interest and email inquiries about the Tampier Quadrant, which is awesome! Due to this high demand, I have decided to open a pre-order registration form which I will use to distribute the first units, rather than simply throwing them up on my website. I want to make sure that I give you guys -- the people who have followed and encouraged my work -- a good shot at obtaining one of the first units! If you want to grab a unit from this first production run, head over to the pre-order form linked below and submit an entry! No money is required up front, I won’t bill anything until I have your order ready to ship. For these first units, I will send all pre-order customers an invoice rather than ordering through my website directly.

And don’t forget that you can get all of the details and technical specs of the quadrant at my website:

Worth every penny in my opinion.  I'm still amazed at how you were able to reproduce this so well.  I have an original one (not mine) sitting in the shop, and it is spot on.  Good luck with your sales!

Some exciting news for VRSimpits: We're moving to a new workshop!

https://www.vrsimpits.com/post/vrsimpits-is-moving-to-a-new-home

In other news, the first production run of Tampier quadrants has been completed and sold to happy customers. Another production run is forthcoming after I have moved into the new workspace, and I will also restart production of SopGrips in the new workshop. Many more exciting things are yet to come!

Let's hope that everything goes smooth and that you and your family feel very comfortable in your new environment.

Hoping to be able to place an order by the time you are up ad running again.

I wonder why this thread isn't in the hardware section.

I have a parallel thread in the hardware section as well. I keep both threads to make sure I reach my audience, as I suspect some FC flyers may not frequent other parts of the IL2 forum.

I do indeed! An Albatros grip is one that I very much want to make once I complete the Sopwith set. If you have any leads on drawings etc. I'd appreciate anything I can find, Albatros info is hard to come by!

Visit Kermit Weeks or talk to Vintage Aviator. I’m sure you’ve thought of that already LOL

I'm looking forward to the vid of the new premises vonrickenbecker. One hopes by that time you will have grown a regulation RFC moustache to go with the uniform and a swagger stick to complete the rakish image. The wife need never know. ;)

I have found some detailed photos of an Albatros control grip, maybe they are helpful
