Black Screen Issue

Hope you are all well and safe!

 

I have recently started having black screen issues when launching the game. I don't use any 3rd party software like Reshade etc..

 

Through some testing, it appears that is could be related to refresh rate. My system is as follows:

 

LG C9 OLED 1440p @ 120Hz

i7 9700K - Not overclocked

RTX 2080TI - Not overclocked

500GB Samsung 970 pro NVME

32GB Corsair (can't remember the model) in XMP

SoundBlaster AE7 in 5.1

 

If I edit the startup config file to force 60FPS, the game loads without issue. If I change that to 120FPS, the black screen occurs (it appears to "go out of range") although I'm not sure if that's actually the case as the TV doesn't state it's incoming signal details.

 

SOOOO, I decided to do a test, I locked the frame rate using the new option in the NV control panel to 117 and force Vsync in NVCP to activate Gsync - this worked but then restarting the game results in a black screen again.

 

It could just as easily be an issue with the Nvidia driver, who knows? All I do know is that it was working fine before the game was patched with the last major update so it seems logically that it could be related to that.

One thing I forgot to mention is the desktop resolution is 4k 60.. 

 

Due to limitations of the HDMI version on the 2080ti, I can only get 120HZ at 1440P, that's why the game is set to run at that res and not 4k. 

 

It also runs better in 1440, at 4k it's a bit of a laggy mess, even on this system.
