Steam ... Can I prevent it Auto updating game to 4.006 ?

Exactly that does anyone know if there is an option in Steam to prevent this update being applied to my game? Normally it just updates the game before it starts but I would rather wait until the Radeon problems are resolved.

There used to be an option to manually select updates on/off by game but it was removed.  Now I think the only way to do this would be to not have Steam open when you are online.  Once disconnected, you can then start Steam in offline mode (which it will do although tiresomely reluctantly) and play games SP, including IL-2 GB IIRC.

 

TBH you are probably better off just waiting a few days - the devs are obviously making a priority of the Radeon issues, I am sure they will make quick progress.

There is an offline mode for Steam... Top left corner, Steam menu. Maybe that works (of course none of your on-line games will work, with this option)

You still can disable automatic download in Steam. Go to properties then there is a setting like where you can select the option that it will detect the update but not install it. I am away from pc so the exact spot I can’t check. I have this selected for Il2 so I can disable mods before updating. I do not know if it allows you to play the game though.
