56. All Flying Circus airplanes: hitting at the central section of the top wing now also leads to breaking the top wing (its left or right part);
57. The geometry of wing spars of all Flying Circus airplanes has been checked and brought into strict compliance with known sources. In general, now it requires much more bullet hits to break the wings of World War I aircraft;

"This update also includes three new Scripted Campaigns – Kaiserschlacht, Spring Offensive and Lightning Strikes.

Kaiserschlacht and Spring Offensive are two campaigns developed by our friends at The Syndicate which tells about the same events from different sides of the front line of the spring of 1918. Although previously released to the public, these campaigns have been enlarged to include new unreleased missions. These are the first official campaigns for Flying Circus, allowing you to more fully evaluate the full potential and atmosphere of this great product. These two campaigns will be available free of charge to those who have already purchased Flying Circus: Volume One. There is an accompanying skin-pack for this campaign. It is available in the forum."

This is good news for the single players out there. Hopefully good sales to follow to keep the dream alive.

I did some preliminary testing, and I'm not noticing anything out of the ordinary compared to pre-4.005 FC.

In fact, there's a g meter now in the instrument panel (is this new since now or since the last update?) and I've managed to pull (over) 10g with the Pfalz.

WeepyClearDromaeosaur-size_restricted.gi

Other planes appear to be losing their wings as expected. Will do damage testing tomorrow.

What's that?

Oh yeah, I could get the Pfalz nerfed over this. Again.

Do you mean to say they'd actually listen to you?  That would be a worrying development and no mistake.

Wow 10! I did just over 9 but I didn't try that hard. Kept all of it's control surfaces too! Ridiculous

Planes are still clearly shaking after little damage, at least the Camel which I tested. I don’t think they removed anything, just like in ROF.

The wings seem to have been strengthened, but I did lose my wings, so it needs some testing. I did not test extreme acrobatics.

I also got sniped a few times with engine damage, which is worrisome and made me remember of ROF and its glass engines.

Hard to test as well, since ace opponents generally won’t engage me in Quick Mission, not even if I swerve in front of them. I might have to get to some furball server or to test it on Flugpark.

Zoo Wings or the ST server Wolfy. Non-stop action.

We spent about 3 hrs on our training server tonight endlessly fighting eachother.

It's certainly better than what it was.

Wounding seems to be back to what it was before this update. Knockouts happen more. None of that "ringing ears but no wound" sound, or at least I didn't experience it in dozens of fights.

Seems like you can blackout much more pulling high g's?

D7's are hard to bring down without killing pilots.

Wings still fragile when pulling G's and have received damage.

Expect a report from Larner out soon.

This. Honestly to me the SPAD felt exactly the same as 4.005. Take a few wing hits and you're out of the fight.

edit: just 1st impression pvp. Hopefully time will prove otherwise.

From Larner's graphic on the other post, the Spad did not change that much, the same for the Sopwith Camel and the Dolphin, which did not change at all.

I imagine that you guys will continue to lose wings basically at the same rate. So it was not a fix. It was a fix for some planes, especially the D7 (?). Perhaps the reason why I thought things had improved, since I tested my Camel against Albatroses and D7s, and the former is twice as strong now and the D7 became a flying tank? I have no idea why.

I also wonder why people won't mention the shaking. Are people OK with this old feature from ROF? Yesterday I was getting a few hits and start shaking.

Shaking in the Camel is ok when ALL planes suffer from it in the same way. It is plausible that a deformed wing with bullet hits will cause more instability.

I definitely need your plane to shake more than mine. Can't wait to fly my Sturmovik DVII

I'm not sure if all the planes have it at the same rate and it is highly implausible that light damage will cause any instability. Looks like a fantasy gimmick from a 1990s game. I never read any account that a few hits would cause anything. As it was mentioned several times before, it was pretty common to come back with a few hits, the plane be patched and flown again shortly.

So to defend the shaking, people should bring accounts that planes did shake with a few hits. To me, it sounds absurd. The old damaga model was spot on to me. Just after some visible damage the plane started to shake, which makes sense = visible damage = instability.

The shaking is another feature that makes you return to base after a few hits, which is basically fiction, fantasy.

I don't experience much shaking probably because my Parkinsonian tremor is 180 degrees out of phase with the game nullifying the effect.

Hard to say when the shaking happens in fact. Before the last update sometimes it occured even after a close-on-the-edge-dive in the Camel with the engine fully intact.

From my observations, usually, the shaking happens not after only a few bullet holes but after your wing is slightly deformed from too many hits or your elevator.
