"[80 years ago] Twenty LN-411 dive bombers of the Aéronavale are dispatched to attack the advancing German armored columns. Without fighter escort, ten are shot down and seven are damaged badly enough to be written off. Surviving units are moved to the south of France to rebuild where some will see action against the Italians."

80 years ago today: "The last intact Aéronavale dive bomber squadron attempts to destroy a bridge east of Saint-Quentin to protect the British flank. The planned escort of Hurricane fighters does not materialize and five of the Vought 156F (export SB2U Vindicators) are shot down. "

Always good to see more recognition of the French in WWII. I did some research into the Battle of France not too long ago, they really weren’t the pushovers that the stereotypes make them out to be.
