cardboard_killer Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 "[80 years ago] Twenty LN-411 dive bombers of the Aéronavale are dispatched to attack the advancing German armored columns. Without fighter escort, ten are shot down and seven are damaged badly enough to be written off. Surviving units are moved to the south of France to rebuild where some will see action against the Italians." 1 1
cardboard_killer Posted May 20, 2020 Author Posted May 20, 2020 80 years ago today: "The last intact Aéronavale dive bomber squadron attempts to destroy a bridge east of Saint-Quentin to protect the British flank. The planned escort of Hurricane fighters does not materialize and five of the Vought 156F (export SB2U Vindicators) are shot down. " 1 1
Cybermat47 Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Always good to see more recognition of the French in WWII. I did some research into the Battle of France not too long ago, they really weren’t the pushovers that the stereotypes make them out to be. 1
