I have been using Pat Wilson's campaign generator lately and have had the problem of it not crediting pilots with kills. One of the guys I was flying with  had 2 kills a 190 a5 and a 262.

I submitted the combat report and it was accepted with no "claim denied" response.

When I generated the next mission I noticed that the pilot in question was credited with 1 kill. Is this a know problem? Maybe it was me giving improper info such as claiming a 190 A8; instead of an A5

but when I do that it gives me a "claim denied" response.

Thanks

I have this issue on almost every one of my missions, me and my friends will shoot down a couple planes (we get the kill messages, everyone is relatively close in proximity to each other etc).  Every now and then I’ll get a mission that actually counts all my claims.  It gets quite annoying because it’s nice to see the accurate count on the missions / kills board on the main screen.  I’ve been logging everything in the narrative / journal of the mission with my kills that I know I’ve gotten so I can keep track that way.  Hopefully in the future it gets ironed out, or until then it gives the option to manually add your kills as a last option before completing the debrief.

The campaign I’m on now I’ve got 12 kills and it’s only logged me as having 2

It seems lots of people are having this issue, but Pat is aware and looking into it.

For purely co-op campaigns this might be the best solution. By the time we get to the PWCG claims screen we've already decided which in-game kills counted or not. For example, if a kill is credited well after it has gone out of view, we will typically not claim.

The one report showed that I have managed to investigate showed very strange logs.  The mission was started twice.  The spawns were only recorded int he first start and not in both.

Are you running the mission more than once?  Any restarts?  If that is not the case then I'm back to "I don't know".

I consistently ask for the results of "Report Error".  Many have provided that feedback so thanks.  Other than the one occurrence I have not had the time to look at the reports.  An analysis can take over an hour each so it's not a fast process.  However, without the error report  I cannot do anything.

Also note that when it comes to mission inputs and output logs 1C is free to do whatever they want.  They are under no obligation at all to inform me or to do anything at all to help me.  It is possible that logging has changed for coop.  More likely it has always been this way and greater use of PWCG for coop is exposing the issue.  Either way, I am working from what I see and what others have figured out.

So hang in there.  If this works out as I hope I can probably get some code in place to handle this over the next few days.  That has always been the case in the past and I expect it will be managed this time too.  In the meantime ... don't restart coop missions.

I did not restart the last mission where I got snubbed, no. Have you considered an option where PWCG takes us at our word? I know that would cause issues with features such as assigning a specific named AI to the kill, and logging the location. My group would definitely forgo that information if PWCG would accept null values where it would normally go, and it meant all our kills counted.

In the end it's a problem that has to be solved.  Seems to be a coop only issue.  I know I have never had a kill denied in all of the time that I play SP.  Anyhow, need some time to look into it.

Thanks for your work Pat. I appreciate it. I'm glad to know its a known issue.

I want to keep the kills not credited conversation here:

I reviewed a log set and this is what it said.  Looking for feedback as to how the logs match perception.

4 human players flying P38s.

They encountered both FW190s and Me109s.

Two of the P38s were lost, one to collision the other to unknown causes.

4 EA were shot down by the P38s.

Summary by pilot:

Korvyr

Shot down an FW190.

Crashed due to unknown causes.

Dingo

Wither collided with an Me109 or each destroyed the other by mutual damage.  Both went down.

Mazz

Shot down an FW190 and an Me109

Reedrick

Damaged two planes but is not credited with a victory.

Got it !!!!

There was a point where the game was declaring pilots dead if they stopped while still in the air.  I put code in to stop looking at logs if a mission end event had occurred.

Coop is different.  There were many "mission ended" logs, probably for each player as they crashed.  That meant that PWCG stopped accepting logs after the first mission ended event.

I am not 100% sure that 1C fixed the "your pilot is dead" thing if you quit on air start so I still want to avoid killing people after the mission is over.  The change is to only acknowledge the last "Mission End"  log and then only remove kills registered after that.  based on the review of the logs sets that I have this should be OK.

I had this last night in SP, but I did restart the mission (error log attached).

Is restarting a no-no as far as claims are concerned then?

Shame, bagged 2 D.Va's.
