It's pretty easy. Each theater has the planes listed for the standard editions and the collector planes in the Premium editions as below for BoBP.

I don't want to come off like I'm complaining too much but that is exactly my point. I have to go through the list of all planes in 5 different modules  that's 50 planes(not counting FC and TC) plus the store page for all the campaigns and collector planes and try to check off the list the planes that i found that i've already purchased. I Know it's a minor problem but it is a massive pain in the ass that will only grow bigger as more planes get released.

It is a lot to keep track of...

That's why I just buy stuff as soon as it becomes available ?

Well i used to buy products from page and ask Steam keys later.

That's how devs got their money.

I got Bodenplatte keys as promised since paid it very early like few days when it got to page.

But its not possible anymore so.. i have to wait but nevertheless devs will get my money but with few cuts from Steam.

I'm 100% sure i will buy Normandy when it come to Steam.

I'm minority here it seems but Steam is my home ?

You know you can buy from the website and still start the game with steam and use the stuff you bought, right.

Yes i know.

There are plenty customers including my Father so when new product arrives i need to buy and install several products on several accounts and computers.

He does not know how to communicate here but i like to say here that he loves Sturmovik and waits for Yak-9 and Hurricane.

When im not sure if i buy Yak-9 to my account my Father will want it so he buys it for his account anyway. ( I do all the job to make it happen )

There are several others who have started to fly when i have teach basics and without Steam it would have not happen.

I guess I can’t see it as a big issue. Whichever package one buys, be it standard or premium, there are only a handful of planes to be in question. Perhaps it would be easier in game to figure out? If you can’t fly it in the QMB, you don’t own it.

I can.

Maybe I'm stepping on land mines here, but until the SP content creation is brought up a level, I'm not buying any more modules. I'm years and several hundred dollars into this sim and the QMB remains weak tea and I still have to turn the game off and open a separate program just to put one plane where I want it on the map. And I even have to load the buildings onto the map myself in that separate program. To have to do that in 2020 is, to me, absolutely ridiculous. It's the horse and buggy equivalent of SP content creation. And I'm not dropping another $100 under those conditions.

And it's a shame because aside from that the sim is absolutely outstanding.

Have you not tried the career mode or PWCG?  THAT'S the SP experience for this sim IMHO.  There are issues of course, but I've quite enjoyed the careers. I totally get being bummed out by the CAD exchange bullcr@p (I'm in Edmonton, AB).

I use the mission creator by SYN_Vander, which is really good - sorry if I got his name wrong - but it's still little more than nonsense to have to turn the game off and use a separate third-party program just to make a decent QMB mission. And if you want to make any changes to that mission, well you have to turn the game off again and... and... and...

At this point I'd happily pay the price of a collector plane for the type of in-game SP content creation that other flightsims had 20 years ago.

I did buy EVERY Content including ALL Collector planes and preordered both versions of the Yak-9 and the Hurricane and Battle of Normandy.

I also said all the time in the past to buy all Content to support the Dev Team and keep the development going on, so from myside I do agree with this thread and it´s message and Intention.

Thanks to the Dev Team and Jason for this wonderful sim and all the updates.

Stay healthy

For the first time I gifted someone here on the forums the premium Kuban but have never heard a peep for several weeks now regarding it. Weird. Oh well.

Well I stopped offering gifts publicly, Only do it on impulse now.
1 got 54 license keys  of witch 34 are gifts.

Currently I got a bit of a fatigue from the whole thing. I bought BON , but this continued late war fixation will make me look hard wether to purchase next. Also what kind of scenario populated servers use.
I came to realize, I am not in line with mainstream here so I have concluded the path chosen is probably not the path I will go.
meaning in my view it is time for a commercial thinking. I buy what I like and gift what I like. But I wont buy or gift  things of no interest anymore.
Why should I support a path I disagree with
I literary dislike bobp but bought it for supporting pto. Tankcrew not opened once but supporting pto. Only surprise was FC witch I bought to support pto but actually enjoy

I admit to being torn as well. I want to show support, and the sim is so freakin' amazing in so many ways, but the one aforementioned stunningly ridiculous weakness in this sim is a deal breaker for me and that is why the last $150 of my sim money went elsewhere. And why the $50 sitting in my Steam wallet will go elsewhere as well.

I might buy the Yak-9, I might not. At this point I would just assume write a check for $15 and tell them to keep the plane. That's my level of motivation.

Gimme an Allison engine upgrade to "as used" and I'll happily pay $25 for it. As long as that isn't available I'll wait till the sales or not at all.

Stay safe.

What late war bias? There was BoBP. Now we wait for BoN. That’s two maps total out of five, less than 50%. Unless there’s some unwritten history from the ETO that I’m unaware of, that’s probably it. Unless of course there are other areas of the European map being considered.

For every guy who desires early war stuff, there’s likely one wanting more late war stuff. Me, I’m just along for the ride. I’ve no desire for the Spanish Civil War, Battle of France but I would like the BoB thru early 1943 in the ETO. The Pacific too but that’s another discussion.

OK I had the Yak 9T on preorder but just went ahead and preordered the regular Yak 9 anyway since I knew I'd never be able to rationalize it otherwise and expect they'll both be making an appearance soon.

I hope you're happy....  ?

Did not say it was a bias

I said I supported enough things of no interest included the modules mentioned here. I will not go for any support buying anymore. I will only buy things interesting me.

IMHO too much for single plane without a map and a scripted campaign.

How much a single plane in ROF?

I think lowering the prices in Collector Planes would increase the sale and the general profit.

Of course, it just my opinion as a buyer.

For years I was promised a Pacific Theater, so I bought to support. Turns out my support was only diverted to make more ME’s and Spitfires. And the Pacific canceled.
in short, I will only buy complete modals that actually interest me, ( not these)

I can't really afford a Yak or Hurricane right now.  Nor BoN.  But if you like what the devs are putting out and want to see more, then yes; you should buy them!

However, if you are not, and are more interested in other theatres (or wars); doing so is no guarantee that they will ever get to yours.  While it is technically true that if the studio does not succeed, they will not be able to make those things; they may not ever make those things anyways.  Whether you take the gamble is up to you.

If you have the means and want to support, one way is to buy additional copies and give away those keys, which we see quite often here.  Something I would suggest however, is to go to *other* sim forums and do your giveaways *there* to put the sim in front of audiences which may not yet be familiar.

I bought all modules of Il-2 original, everything in RoF except the scarves and everything here in BoX including BoN, the Yaks and the Hurricane. Hurri was a no-brainer, Yaks I can take or leave. I am hoping that I can continue buying stuff and supporting the sim/devs, but I'll probably pass on anything including yet another version of the 109, Berlin 1945 or a set including prototype/fantasy planes. There is still a lot of WW2 content that we can go to, and I will go for, but just not more of the same.

I bought these planes, but mostly out of nostalgia. Hurricane was one of my favorite planes in 1946: I flew a long dynamic campaign in it over Leningrad 1941-1942. But what is the use of a fighter plane if I can't see anything out if it?

I have an idea. Create a premium skin pack for most popular planes, each skin costs 10$. All money raised through the skin selling campaign go to pay salary for a separate engineer who dedicates all his time to improve visibility experience in the game.

Regardless of the original post in question - I do think there is a bit of a grounds for panic over late-war bias. :)

A lot of people gravitate to the fastest, best armed, and most powerful... and that means that if they get aircraft from '45 they don't always explore further. I remember that it took me a long time to get a good enough internet connection for multiplayer - and by the time I did almost all of them multiplayer servers were '44-45 ETO... and all of my practice was for nothing.

Anyway, there is a lot of fun people miss if they don't explore the airwar in '39-'42... with its lower speeds and wingloading, and weaker firepower - the fights are longer and more dance like.

Also, don't knock what you haven't tried ;)  I suspect that the Battle of France, if done properly (which it hasn't) could be quite cool. There is also the option to offer a longer campaign without the Mechelen incident and the Ardennes breakthrough... things which were by no means inevitable.

We didn't promise you anything of the sort. Was a hope and aspiration and still is. Life doesn't always go as planned and Pacific is not canceled because it never began.

It saddens me to see someone misinterpre the dev teams hopes and wishes as promises and then shun products as a result. Not just because it is unjust, but because the dev team have, for the most part, been very open with us customers and when they see someone make such mistakes, it must make them think again about being so open. After all, no one can mistake silence for a promise.

I hope the devs openness continues despite such things.
