Stuka and Sturmovik — The Aircraft That Inspired the A-10

You could add the Duck to this family. Maybe not as famous (no sirens, no heavy armor like the Sturmovik was known to have, although it also had a bath-tub), but designed in the spirit of the CAS mentality.

Your referring to the Henschel Hs 129, or the Grumman J2F Duck which im guessing would be the Duck (J2F-6)?

It inspired maybe. Stuka was a product inspired by a us naval double decker 

A 10 is a development made due to experience made from countless conflicts since ww2. Corsair in Korea  mohawk and bronco in Vietnam. 
Design is a line of events since brother s wright took the first flight. A 10 with engines away from fueltanks And a big gatling gun proved to be the way to best fly slow and low over enemy. 
In Iraq they cleaned up a Bronco to do slow recce.

This... Douglas A-1 Skyraider is the direct predecessor of the A-10.

The Skyraider now that's a beast of a plane, larger bomb load then a B17.

It has the same engine as the P-47, hasn't it? 

Anyway... I would love to have this beast for DCS.
