jollyjack Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 (edited) 4.005d game. I had a JSGME modded setup working fine, tried a few mods, and also some Surface Editing done on an other map then the Kuban used here. (Winter mod installed, but used the Summer version in the mission) And suddenly on mission loading (the same mission) first the loading took 2 times as much time, and later the game stuck at loading this mission. Red progress loading bar under the L in the Splash screen and the process stucks there. Needed to restart my PC after that. Re installed a total game backup, MODs and all, and the same mission loads fine. Plays fine too. Kuban scene, He111 torpedoing runs. Now where can things have gone wrong? Some mod entered did not uninstall properly? Is the OvGME tool better at removing stuff after modding? Differences between the backup game folder and the crashing one were just small fry: I have been modding a totally different map, some Rheinland surface edits only regarding an area where i still want to put a forgotten airfield. Can this have influenced the Kuban map and mission loading? Edited May 12, 2020 by jollyjack
mrBruce2 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Ive been having crashes as well as of a week or so ago, can not determine what mods {if any} are causing it. I get the same thing, game freezes while loading or when I press start mission. Cant alt tab or kill it or anything, have to restart my computer. After that happens a few times it wont even let me boot up the game unless I reinstall it..
Dutch2 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 (edited) There are a couple of JSGME & OvGME problems that can cause crashing or mods that can not be removed. Gameupdate: before every game update remove all the mods firstly, if not the mod file can be corrupted. Old mods that can not cope to an gameupdate, I know the AI-mods in RoF were very prone to that. Leftovers, JSGME and at that point worser OvGME, do not always swapback all the files. Bad made mods, despite all the halalua writings here it does not mean a mod is good. How beautiful a used car can be, with an worn-out engine its still something you should avoid buying. You could try to track the files and deleting manually and hope its helping, but If having this problem, better to do an reinstall. Edited May 16, 2020 by Dutch2
