OK, this is a head scratcher for me.

Problem:

I just got a new Virpil setup.  I can get the game to recognize my new joystick when I am in the keybinding menu to set controls for each axis, but if I open the Input Response for any axis on the joystick it shows no input when I move any of the axis on that joystick.  The Joystick movement is seen in Windows, it's seen in other programs.

Details:

I have the following on the system:

MFG Crosswind Pedals with Toe Brakes

Virpil MT-50 CM throttle

MT-50 CM2 Grip on WarBRD base

CH Products MFP

TrackIR v4

Also plugged in 'cause this is my gaming rig:

Fanatec Club Sport V3 pedals

XBox 360 Game-pad

Any Ideas?

*Edit* It works in other games, like DCS

Ok, I tried deleting the input folder (after I backed it up elsewhere) that didn't fix the issue.  Any ideas anyone?

If you unplug all your other controllers, leaving just that stick, can you see an axis response? I remember reading somewhere that the game only recognizes a certain number of axes or controllers but I might be getting that confused with Il-2 1946.

I'll check it this evening, but I don't think that's it because it flew just fine with the exact same setup except I was using my CH Products Fighter stick and that has 3 axis just like the Virpil does.

If you look in the inputs file, is the CH products fighter stick still listed?

How do I check that?

There is a text file called "devices.tx", I believe in the inputs folder, but maybe somewhere else? But I just re-read that you had already deleted that folder and it didn't solve the problem.

I just remember someone having a similar problem with new rudder pedals, where their old CH controller was still in the list, and even though the game would bind the keys the axis wasn't working in the game itself because it was still trying to use the old CH pedals.

Thanks.  I'll check it.

Thanks.  That seemed to fix it.  Apparently, inspite of the game letting you set more, it can only recognize 9 or 10 axis. ?

That sucks, especially since I already have 14 analogue axis and recently ordered another flight controller specifically for this game because it gave me another 4 analogue axis for a total of 18.  The devs need to make that axis limit public knowledge somewhere.

I have 5 control devices with at least 14 total axis set up.  If you're limited to 10, it's not a game restriction.

Ok.  Thank you. I'll keep looking into it then.  Perhaps running a completely fresh install and setting commands all over again will clear things up.  I'll admit I'm not looking forward to that prospect though. ?

Thank you for the heads up.  I seem to have gotten them all working now.  Any ideas on how I can move my previous careers over from the folder I backed up before I uninstalled?  I haven't been able to figure out where those careers are saved at yet.  Thanks again for all your help.  Both of you.  I really appreciate it.

Sorry, I don't know anything about how careers are stored.

What was your solution in the end? I have the same problem - the settings function will assign my pedals to yaw - so it is happy to see the pedals during setup. But in game it refuses to acknowledge the set command. Was it a case of too many axes (my pedals are registering as Joy10_axis_t )?
