'just found a little gem on how to start the engine of a 109G2:

 

 

I just love that whistle of the supercharger!

 Nice video, thanks for sharing Note how well the engine responded to throttle changes and it stopped pretty fast too when cut.

Yes very nice video.

 

This was a demonstration of the 109G2 black 6 in Duxford before it was sold to South Africa for museum display, very sad about this, after so much maintenance the plane will be hanging from some roof.

 I recall it was built back to flying condition, but not to be flown anymore. Really a shame, but what can one do. Not too many of these birds left in the world.
