Alexander9822 Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I'm trying to start a Il2 server, I have the server account and everything I need, I am running on dedicated server box with 24 Cores and 64GB of ram so I have no hardware issues. When I start the server it says "Server successfully registered on master server" but it doesn't show up in game. There is no port forwarding required since all ports are open isp side and the DServer is allowed through the firewall. External IP is checked in the SDS. My server log: ===== DeathMatch mode ===== ===== Dedicated server ===== Brief info: Max clients = 40 TCP: 28000, UDP: 28000, Downloader: 28100, U/D Limits = 50000/50000 Login with UserName 'alexfaiers@gmail.com' ... Login success Server is being created ... Server name 'The Flying Rooster' Loading mission 'Multiplayer/Dogfight\ZA_Missions\test.msnbin' (Multiplayer/Dogfight\ZA_Missions\test)... Server listener IP = '10.0.0.25' ... Mission loaded successfully Server succesfully registered on master server Any help would be grateful.
LLv34_Temuri Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Leave the "IP" field empty and check the "External" box next to it?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 i do that and I still can't see it in the server list.
DD_FT- Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Mods enabled on/off is set to the same value both server and client side?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 To disable mods on server I have to set "Mode = 0" iirc just to make sure?
DD_FT- Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Me thinks it'd be "modes = 0" ... You could also fire up the launcher.exe on the server, and set/check it in there:
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 So I have disabled mods and now the server shows up but I cannot connect to it, it is says failed to connect to server. Is there any log I can check?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 The server doesnt show anything about connecting so I believe it could be in the client side log?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 (edited) It varies what is does now, I click join and then it freezes, doesnt say Downloading Mission and then it take take me back to the menu. Other times it says downloading missing then loads and then puts me back into the menu. The server also doesnt change, it doesnt say anything about me connecting or anything. I also cant see my servers ping in the server list. Edited May 8, 2020 by Alexander9822
DD_FT- Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Client side logs: There are some in data folder. Not sure which one holds connection info. Is it an open server? I could try and connect, see what happens. Are you sure the mission on the Dserver is fine and okay? Its .list file has the corrects paths and file names in it?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 The server is open and it is called "The Flying Rooster" i will quickly load a stock mission and see if that makes a difference.
DD_Arthur Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I can see the server but I can't join it. Plenty of egg timer action then put back in the initial multiplayer screen. Is this another Port-Fowarding thing?
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 The server has all ports open, I could try change the port from 28000 but to what?
DD_FT- Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Hm, same here, it loads the mission, then drops back to menu. Are the mission files in the Data/Multiplayer/Dogfight folder? The mission name in the first post shows this: Multiplayer/Dogfight\ZA_Missions\test.msnbin This means the test.list file must contain the correct references to the briefing file. Did you verify this? As for ports, TCP 28100 needs to be open. Besides TCP&UDP 28000
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 I can confirm, I have changed to mission since the first post. Is there no log I can check on the client side that I can check on to why I just keeps going to the menu?
DD_FT- Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 It's as if it is download an empty mission file ('Downloading mission' does not even show), then loads the games map, then crashes back to menu. But, Why? lol
Alexander9822 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 I might have fixed it, The server has too internal ips. One for a closed network and one for the internet. I have forced it to use the other ip and i have connected now. YAY!
DD_Arthur Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Connected fine. Good luck with your server Alexander!
