Finnish Ju-88's skinpack

Here is a small skinpack of 8 Ju-88's in Finnish service. I know that Kanttori has created excellent 2k pack also, but these are 4k, so they are perhaps worth to publish also.

 

Finns had 24 of Ju-88A-4 in their service. At first they kept original german paint, except national markings were hastily and often poorly washed / overpainted. JK-255, JK-262, JK-267, JK-272 and JK-273 represent these.

 

During early months of '44 the order was issued to repaint these using standard Finnish "Sotamaalaus" (war paint) during maintenance-roll. Camo pattern was to be with smooth lines, bottom of the plane should be painted with gray-light-blue DN-color (developed from Hellblau 65 used in Dornier's) and use Finnish standard green and black colors. National insignias were to be darkened with DN-color as well that they would be seen until within gun-range. JK-260, JK-268 and JK-271 received this paint before armistice and managed to participate the war with standard Sotamaalaus.

 

All these were to be matte colors, I've tried to represent this with alpha-channel. I've tried to be as historical as possible (camo-patterning is shared between layouts though). Differences are mostly in spinners / tactical markings (or lack of) and overpainted original markings. Keskinen & Stenman books have been my primary source.

 

This would have not been possible without JG4_Kruger's most excellent template that he has developed (from IIRC JG2Gustav05's template maybe?) so hats off to these guys!! Historical Von Rosen insignias only.

A lost brother you could say. Originally back in the Quake/ Vietcong / BF 1942 days the nick was meant to refer Antti Rokka (named as Kannaksen Hanu once in the book) but Pääsiäishanu is surely more fitting now when reaction times urge to play turn based games only. ?
