Cross-eyed/eye misaligned with samsung odyssey.

Hello guys, I bought Il-2 ages ago and finally I'm having time to get into it, however, my eyes are getting strained and I can tell something is off whenever I hop into the game.

Its similar to the problem I used to have with DCS and this tool was created to solve it https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=250686, is there any way I can fix this on Il-2? Did anyone else experience  this problem?

Are you certain you are using the correct launch procedure?

1) Windows Mixed Reality Portal

2) get into VR to find boundaries, get out

3) Start Steam, have 2 Apps installed: "SteamVR" and "Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR"

4) Start "Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR"   (do not start SteamVR itself!)

5) Start IL-2

Check convergences in-game with LShift+Numpad(+) and LShift+Numpad(Enter)

Hi, thanks for the reply, yeah launching procedure is correct, and I tried changing the convergence too, I'm thinking maybe reinstalling it to see if maybe something was off from my old install. Thing is when I remove the headset my vision is doubled, this happened before with DCS, one eye was slightly off, very annoying.

Same problem with vertically misaligned left/right images with Odyssey+.

Also there is "Fish-eye" problem if you select lower FOV in WMR settings.

Select something like one of the Russian birds with the large gunsight image projection.  Start parked on an airfield and set some controller buttons to the IPD + and -, for some reason the keyboard combos wouldn't work for me.  Look at the sight image and shift your head so both eyes can see at least part of the projection.  Now use the buttons to shift the image so the sight picture gun rings and cross becomes one again.  My O+ was a +3 IPD in game shift for a unified single gun sight image, than adjust your built in IPD if required, shouldn't be anymore crosseye.  IPD in game adjustments are from -30 to +30 values with a 3 value per push shift.

Unfortunately, this will not help. You are describing the solution for horizontal cross-eye issue. I'm talking about vertical cross-eye issue, where one eye looks up, and the other looks down relative to some center. Vertical misalignment is not equal on all Odyssey HMDs (and other WMR headsets). Some have more some less.
DCS also had this problem, and solved it with VR debug tool. Where you can adjust your projection matrix.

Mine must have come out of the factory straight, never had any vertical alignment issues.  Funny thing about the horizontal I noticed is it can change from plane to plane.  The sights can be way out of whack from one to the next, generally eliminates the eye strain if I align the sight picture properly.

You won't really notice vertical misalignment if it's less than 0.5 degree. However, you can measure it with data from
vrcmd located in c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\bin\win64

and method described here
https://steamcommunity.com/app/719950/discussions/0/1742229167208813376/?ctp=3#c1742231069940351286

Also in IL-2 vertical misalignment is partially fixed. It will be 2 times less than calculated.

Never the less, it is bad for your eyes, even if you don't perceive it.

I am having the same problem. I also had it iRacing when using the SteamVR setting, but was able to get it working by using the in-game oculus option with revive.

I've tried setting it to 60Hz, but then I get the fisheye bug with the misalignment.

Checking the projection numbers shows my headset points the left eye up 1.06deg and the right eye down 0.63deg.

Edit: Realized I don't have v2004 update installed. Will update this with results.

Results: Still doesn't work.

I have this setup. It only happens in German fighters for me. I have not found a work around other than leaning to one side. Or resetting the VR view once I have the gunsight in the proper eye.

Hey, this really helped me.  Couldn't figure out why my VR kept loading up w/ pilot perspective 'frozen' ie. the cockpit moved forward/backward when I moved my head f/b, gunsight appeared crosseyed, and stereo vision kept giving me double sized canopy frames.  All I had to do was follow the prescribed start up procedure below and it fixed the problem.  Recommend posting this in other current VR threads, esp. the new Reverb G2 users asking questions, as that's what I'm using.  Note: on number 2 below, where it says 'get out' all I did was win-Y to get to  a mouse pointer and select my WMR for SVR desktop icon (which I created), I didn't actually shut down WMR, and it worked, so I presume that's what he meant.
