69th_chuter Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Finnish server. I was in a PIII reasonably well hidden from aircraft by leafless trees on a winter map. An IL2 was flying around looking for me without success until after about four passes his (I assume AI) gunner started shooting at me and then my end was inevitable. I assume it was AI because the gunfire never landed more than 10m from me even after the aircraft initiated the turn around. : / The whole AI thing throws the entire ground based game into question. 2

The problems introduced by these new features, and the existing problems due to old issues like the invisible trees, AI shooting through vegetation, a long list... ... make me wonder: do the devs actually spend any time playing this on multiplayer, on any reasonably competitive level? While TC is progressing on predictable features such as new, nicely modeled vehicles, the decisionmaking I think shows a total disregard for the topics which people who actually play this sim online, care about. And the disappointing development of online player numbers is an outcome of that. 2

It took several years to solve some of them. Normaly i am an optimistic person, but in case of TC and the estimated release i think many problem will stay unsolved. With a good mission designer we might get some interesting mission (no campaign) but multiplayer will never be as good as it sounds 3 years ago. The early alpha version of TC has not developed much in the last 2 years. It disappoints me as much as i was dissapointed with BoS. Only 5 years laster BoK solved most problems and i am sure we wont see any TC 2. I dont wanna see the next grafic update or the next generation damage model or 4k new skins when the AI still has many of its old 2013 problems and it does not care. If they could simply state publicly that they are aware of the issue and have chosen to ignore it or will address it is a good start. But ignoring people who have tried for months to raise awareness of the issue in the forums shows a disregard for people who support them and have often spent years and years on buying modules and promoting the game everywhere. The AI behavior is a core gameplay issue and it is a big flaw in especially TC that rely on vegetation to obscure enemy positions. SP gaming is out of the window unless designers carefully craft missions such as to rely on hills, etc. to avoid the issue. 1

JG1_Wittmann Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I was on the Finnish Virtual server in a PZIV , I wasn't near any ground tgts that I could see, at least not in MG range. I had moved away from the spawn as the allies were camping tank spawn/tgt . I am open commander, see an AC off to my 3 . Jabo, P47 maybe ? I am trying to stay in/near trees, I do not think that he can see me, I'm still moving......... All of a sudden my dumb a$$ bow gunner opens fire on him and that is all she wrote, he saw the tracers. He turned, positively spotted me then made a couple of bomb runs. We have got to have a way to turn that BS off. In addition to this problem, I saw something I never have before. I was in commander, opened, moving along road. Alternating between positions. I'm in commander looking around, game moves me to driver, Comm hatch is still open. Only position I can switch to is driver, and bow gunner. Since this game unrealistically does not allow you to drive unbuttoned w/ driver, only outside view I have is gunner. After awhile, minutes, it allows me to go to gunner, then finally commander again. This happens again a short time later, only this time I have no position I can go to except driver. 5 minutes or so, available again. In that driver only mode I missed a turn I needed, when I realized it, slowed down some went to turn right,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Yup, you can guess I'm sure ! The So Called " Physics Model " kicked in, and my 45 ton tank flipped over onto its roof when I was going about 35K, just over 20mph . What universe do these physics exist ? I think the game treats everything as too light maybe not sure.
RIVALDO Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 (edited) Cmon guys!You really didnt know about this thing?!Nothing new here.You just have to command your rear gunner to attack ground targets and fly low enough for him to spot.Same as attack the enemies from close,medium or far range.This option has been available for a long time.
