41Sqn_Skipper Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) No. 41 Squadron RAF is a virtual fighter/fighter-bomber squadron that has been reformed and is looking for like-minded pilots of any skill level. The missions are flown at Central European Time (CET)/Central European Summer Time (CEST) time zone. Today's entry in the Operation Record Book of the squadron noted: We are a group of flight simulation enthusiasts gathering around the "IL-2 Sturmovik" series. The virtual No. 41 Squadron RAF was founded in 2007 at the peak of the legendary "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946", followed by the transition to "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover" in 2011. The release of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte" and the announcment of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Normandy" in late 2019 finally introduced a Western front scenario and allowed the progression to the latest sequel of the series: "IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles". The squadron is based in Europe and is centered around aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force during WW2, in particular fighters and fighter-bombers. We enjoy flying as a team in a more serious and ambitious manner, though not in competition among each other. Our activities range from weekly campaign missions and exercises to the participation in organized community events and visits to mission oriented dogfight servers. The squadron is geared to create an immersive experience. To support this, every member is encouraged to express the mentality of a WW2 RAF fighter pilot. Organization, tactics and communication are based on authentic Royal Air Force documents. The squadron history and combat reports are composed within a virtual replica of an Operational Record Book (ORB). Our campaigns are well-researched and try to recreate historical events and scenarios within the limits of the simulation. You are welcome to visit the website http://www.41squadron.org for more information about the squadron's organisation and regulations. If you are interested to become a pilot of the squadron or have any questions, please send me a PM. Edited May 9, 2020 by 41Sqn_Banks 2 1
41Sqn_Skipper Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 (edited) Red Section returns without a scratch Today the first operational sortie was flown and first enemy fighters were claimed. The Intelligence Officer recorded the statements the pilots: Combat Report "Form F" Also have a look at the Form 540 and Form 541 in the ORB for more details. Nevertheless, a written report can only give a slight impression of the intense fighting against the Hun. Enlist in the RAF and obtain a first-hand experience! Edited May 14, 2020 by 41Sqn_Skipper

41Sqn_Skipper Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 (edited) For the last two days the squadron was in No. 17 A.P.C at Warmwell for a dive-bombing course. The pilots of the squadron scored good hits and are now eager to return to the continent to apply what they have learned. Approach at 10,000 feet in Echelon Port. Target is on starboard. Pull out from dive and release of bombs at 2,000-3,000 feet. Departure from target. Don't climb to early and stay clear of AA fire. Edited May 12, 2020 by 41Sqn_Banks 2
Madov Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) We put the lessons learnt on the course to good effect. The US 9th Armd Div gets blocked in front of Remagen by multiple batteries of German field artillery. 2TAF calls in the specialists. You are welcome to visit the website http://www.41squadron.org for more information about the squadron's organisation and 'modus operandi'. You are also very welcome to drop into our Discord Server - https://discord.gg/XtYSAdM - at any time and see what's going on. We're usually around in the evenings. Edited June 13, 2020 by 41Sqn_MADOV
