guns on He111 and Ju88 won't fire

How can you get the guns on He111 ans Ju88 to shoot? On other planes they work normally ...

You cannot fire from the pilot position

Ah, that's it. If i change to gunner positions (with Cntrl C) they still don't shoot, must be something in my keymappings.

I remember from 1946 when changing to gunner positions the plane went to Ai mode automatically. Is that not the case with the current IL2?

Yeah it's not exactly the same. In this sim you go to the gunner view, then I think the control is called 'nestle to gun' or something like that and then you should have control over the gun. There's a couple of extra gunner controls.

This only works, when you go to bombsight mode, not for gunner positions.

Either you, or the aircraft is flying itself, until it crashes to the ground

You can still fly while in the gunner position if you have a joystick. Like you will have no idea where you are going, your angle, or speed. But it can be done for the more "task" inclined individual. I just use the gunner positions to look around. lol
