Hey guys, I am looking for some help on this field, I wanted to upscale the textures using an AI model that was successfully used on other games for upscaling and enhancing games textures. I tried to reach at Oyster_KAI, but looks like he don't want any help on his experiment. Since I don't know and I am not going to waste time learning about textures and the art part, I came here asking for your help and cooperation to run this experiment.

I can upscale the textures 4 times, but I can't use textures larger than 1024x1024 because my vram (8GB collapses), so what I did is to pick a random texture of 2048x2048 and resized it with gimp at 1024x1024 then upscaled it at 4096x4096 with great results. If we could do the same with the current cockpits we could rise the quality of current in game cockpits to a whole new level.

I need help with this experiment and if you really want to support me in this project we can do this together.

Thank you in advance guys.

Why do you want to downscale first?

Hi, because system limits :/ and because the AI model enlarge the image x4 times, I can try using the CPU instead the GPU to check if is viable option to avoid the memory limit of my GPU. I have successfully enlarged many photos to 4 times the resolution, but don't know anything about dds files or textures to do it myself

You'd be better off cutting a 2048 texture into 1024 chunks.

There are online services where you can upload your images and have them automatically upscaled and made ready for you to download again.  I've used these for work and they are very effective.  You can try the first 5 images for free if you want to give it a go.
