I reached the 7th mission, and now it repeats constantly the same mission although every time it is succesfully finished.-

Maybe is the end of the campaign, but no warning about that is generated.

Hi Solitojorgesoo,

No warning is generated, but read the second sentence in the first post......

Correct on both counts...

The campaign at this stage is 7 missions long. I left it open ended should time and desire to add more missions and/or flyable aircraft within the campaign present itself.

Lullaby for a Dream just got better.

Updated to v4.506 and available for in the Original Post

Expect some additions and changes as I check out the new haze and visibility changes. Give a heads up if there is a problem and most of all...

Enjoy,

For yourself Blitzen, as you've already completed the Campaign, I'd wait to begin again until I've had a chance to go through everything, testing out some additions along with the haze settings.

***For folks who have already started the Campaign and those who have yet to play it. The visibility improvements are definitely a good thing. I'd certainly Download the new update and continue where you left off.

Don't forget if ya'll find something funky give me a holler. Anytime an update changes things as much as this one does. Sometimes unforeseen events within the logic streams happen.

Thanks and Enjoy the Campaign,

Thanks for the update!

I think the new zip is missing the skins, I still have them in my install folders because of the old version but others who download from the front page now will probably be missing the skins

Hi Tip, Lullaby; finally got it working now, probably due an older installed version from before 4.501.

Great stuff, played a few of the factory campaigns. but this should be in the game by default. Class !! Thanks !

These P51s are quite shiny, and not rusty, dented nor muddy, maybe put Beebop to work, ageing these delicate whine bottles a little?

Refueling ain't easy .. :

Lullaby for a Dream now updated to v4.506

*All missions redone to some extent using the new haze settings, incorporating newly released aircraft, and maybe a surprise here and there.

Available in the Original Post

***Start fresh with v4.506.

However if you are already playing the campaign. Downloading and installing allowing overwrites will not effect your progress.

DBS: Months after completing the first version of this fun campaign I decided I needed a little Mustang action & downloaded the newest version.I really enjoyed the first mission ( loved the C-47 flyover...) and “refuel /rearm utility “ ,and know where the “station is, tho navigating around the trucks in the area can be a challenge...sigh. ....but I have forgotten how to proceed from there.Do I simply fly home to complete the objectives, or fly back into enemy territory for further action with the Luftwaffe ( if it still exists or clones while I have been R7R with Lili Marlene?)

Thanks again!

Thanks Tip, i have to restart any way, still try to get past level 1. I'll take your advice in shooting them boogiemen from around 400 meters.

If i succeed finishing level 1 i'll heave a pint to that and your health ...

Blitzen,

You'll need to have 2 objectives completed along with the take-off and a landing back at Le Culot after certain conditions have been met to proceed past mission one. It may require the use of the RRR utilities at St.Trond and/or Le Culot to achieve this. It may also require other units to successfully complete their objectives in tandem with your own either within the main sortie or during your RRR sorties.

So give Lili a smooch, arm up and get back in the fray.

Well Tip, alas i must confess that i am getting too old for two rounds in a row with Lilly. I need a longer break in between for my recharges. Even if it's only arm-wresting.

Just playing through this campaign again. Just excellent! The haze settings in the third mission are great. And with todays update to the distance at which you can see smoke (100km), this campaign is a must for immersion. Play without indicators!

Yep the visual, AI and aircraft updates are really upping the ante for immersive gameplay. Looking forward to incorporating them within the campaign.

Appreciate the comments justin_z3r0.

I am getting crashes to desktop with this campaign. I had a midair collision on the first mission and nursed my a/c back to base. Went for a restart of the mission and it crashed. Anyone else having these issues? Also some video issue crashes like "unable to draw smoke.xxx"

Not having these issues totalize. Let me ask a few questions to see if perhaps the latest update has caused some problems.

1) Are you running the latest version of the Campaign? v4.503?

If so did you download and install the Campaign after the latest Game update to v.4.505?

2) Are you running Mods?

3) When you say "went for a restart". Did you just click <Esc> then <Restart> in the GUI while in the aircraft or spectator and the mission was still running?

1. Yes.

    a. Yes.

2. Yes.

3. I believe so. Esc. Restart mission.

Possible Caveat. There may be some issue with the actual game because I uninstalled from my D:/ drive and reinstalled to C:/ and I am getting crashes and lock ups with other campaigns. So might not be your campaign. For instance I got a game lock up running Hell hawks which is an official campaign and a Microsoft C++ runtime error 6205 running Wind of Fury campaign.

 Okay thanks for the clarification.

The smoke issue is most probably Mod related.

However I'll redownload the latest version from the One Drive and try and recreate the "Restart Crash" along with seeing if the Campaign itself needed to be in a players directory prior to the latest update to be sure.

Appreciate the heads up.

BTW Love the new music at the repair & refuel factify! The AI that crew them are miracle workers as well. I got bounced by a high circling 109 over the St.Trond field and put my battered kite down just in time .By the time I taxied into the fuel & repair area my plane was a battered wreck ,with engine damage, wing and fuselage badly holed & leaking gas like..like...a sieve! I turned off the sputtering engine opened up the canopy, gave my urgent request for service & before I had a chance to turn my head & puke , my plane was rearmed & fixed better than new! I took my Christmas gifts for Hitler to whatever the target I missed initially & must say I put them in the right place before returning to my home field. Best of all I got credit for Mission #2 on my second run on this scripted new & improved campaign!

Sucks that your having to do all this with regards to computer issues.

Don't go through steam here so unable to recreate crashes for a possible solution.

On this

3) When you say "went for a restart". Did you just click <Esc> then <Restart> in the GUI while in the aircraft or spectator and the mission was still running?

I would go through regular SoP of ending the mission and then restarting. Missions are heavy with different things going on due to the random routine logic of the campaign.

Within Mission One itself there are 2 different main scenarios which have 5 different sub scenarios depending upon what you are doing.

Tip

It's a game issue or something to that effect. It chokes on Hell Hawks over the bulge too. So, I have a fresh windows install, fresh steam install, fresh IL2 install and it crashed again. The first mission of Hell hawks crapped out and crashed. I started the game again verified games file then started hell hawks again. It now went to the second mission. Got through that mission and was coming in for a landing and it crashed.  The game audio sputtered and it crashed back to steam. That's a long time in a mission only to have the game crash right at the end. It seems to crash during autopilot or just coming off of it. It seems since 4505 or 4505C this game just cannot run properly. It's weird because I never had any issues with BOM, BOS, Kuban even the scripted campaigns for those theaters. But since Bodenplatte and recent updates? Absolute garbage.

Mission One is Accomplished with at least 2 secondary objectives being met which, depending upon the scenario, may require using the Rearm/Refuel Function at Le Culot or the St. Trond emergency strip along with a Take-Off and a Landing at your Home Base. (Le Culot)

Just to rehash, and for other players sake reading this. For Mission One:

The Take-off from Le Culot is secondary Objective 2.

The Landing at Le Culot following a required amount of time or certain actions fulfilled by the AI is secondary Objective 10.

The other 2 required mission success Objectives number 3 through 9 and may be fulfilled by AI or the player depending upon what the players actions are.

I see on the map secondary objective 2 and 10 are finished, along with another secondary objective finished over the city the B25 bombed, but still the Mission is failed. I basically followed the bombers until bomb released, then even refueled/repaired at St. Trond, then took off and landed again at Le Culot.

I am sorry I do not really understand from your description above how to clear Mission 1.

I read the mission briefing from back to back, it never mentions what the primary objectives are and how to Accomplish the mission. It does not mention "at least 2 secondary objectives"

If I took off ("secondary objective 2" according to above) and landed at Le Culot ("secondary objective 10") then I have "at least 2 secondary objectives" then why is the Mission failed? What exactly are the objectives number 3 through 9?  Are any of these required to accomplish the mission? If so why are they not described anywhere in the briefing text which I read and re-read from beginning to finish trying to understand what the Primary objectives is.

Thanks for the feedback.

I would say that the P-38 sortie: ("Barge and Train Traffic Reported Vise. Sector 2316. "Ripper" P-38 strike from "Edison" ordered.") which was started when you used the St. Trond rearm/refuel facility was unsuccessful in completing their mission objective at Vise either flat out due to the artillery barrage at St. Trond, ambushed on the way to Vise, or were still in the process of attacking their objective at Vise when you landed and shut down at Le Culot.

Question? Did you not fly with them from St. Trond or attempt to attack the Axis artillery which was laying down the barrage on your airbase after rearm/refueling?

Granted Mission 1 is long when running the full escort scenario. But that may have made the difference in Ripper flight completing their objective and in the case of you attacking the Axis artillery position, would of given you that second mission objective needed alongside the landing and taking off requirements.

From your post the completed objectives for the mission are the required landing and taking off but only one other secondary mission objective completed. That of the B-25s bombing their target. Two other successful objectives are needed in Mission One along with the Landing and Taking off. This could be what I've mentioned above from rearming at St. Trond. It could off been that a certain number of the fighters attacking the B-25s were shot down in the initial sortie. It could of been one of the 2 other random scenarios that your Flt. Commander ordered after the bombers dropped their loads. It could also be returning to Le Culot and using the Rearm/Refuel there to launch another sortie with the spare Neptune aircraft.

The Campaign truly is random and in some instances objective success or failure may lie in what you don't do as well as what you did do. Remember to take a look on the map for the Primary Objective Bullet before you hit End mission.

Thanks for the quick response! I just flew it, made sure to pursue the 109s that attacked the bomber, got 1 (debrief said I got 2), then destroyed all artillery near St Trond after refuel (Never would have guessed I need to press RCtrl+A and RCtrl+F! These should be automatic!  I had to go back to the area again after flew to the artillery and realize the my ammo is still empty). Now I got 1,2,4,7,10 objective complete and primary complete.

I really enjoyed the mission despite the initial frustrations!  I believe you can spare a lot of users of these frustrations by simply putting in more guidance messages (that displays in yellow letters in the middle so people don't miss it) like what keys to press to re-arm, where the service area is, that we need to destroy some artillery in this this coordinate to gain point toward passing the mission, that we need to pursue and shoot down this many 109 to gain point,  and delete unnecessary info like what runway to land at St Trond (the briefing said to land at runway 12 but to get to the service are in SW corner runway 20 ? is much better. Initially I thought landing in the right runway 12 is a condition of passing the mission.  )

Happy Easter guys!

Maybe somebody can help to end successfully mission 1?

I tried so many times...

I fullfilled 4 or 5 secondary objects, I rearmed and refuled at St. Trond, landed at Le Culot, but "End Mission" is still red instead of green.

I rearmed and refuled at St. Trond twice, but I get not a primary object completed...

Can someone point me what are primary tagerts?

I really like to finish mission 1 and go to #2, because I think this could be a really great campaign...

Hi Tip,

I did it again, followed your instructions, but I got no primary object.

This time I landed with autopilot back at Le Culot, to find the right parking postion.

In the past I also did it manually, as well no success.

Is there maybe a special parking postion I need to met?

You might not be doing anything wrong.

I downloaded the Campaign and flew Mission One to test and while I'm not having this problem when I've fulfilled the required landing and taking off from Le Culot along with completing two sortie secondary objectives. It doesn't mean that something(s) not fouling up on your side. Perhaps due to overwriting or other corruption within the files.

I've noticed a couple things that, although would not cause your problem, was just some needed housekeeping in Mission One so here is the updated Campaign link here:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am83M5MI8WLyjEBffraM3uK6t75n?e=RRzH4H

@King_Franky

My suggestion to you would be to delete the entire Campaign from your puter then reinstall this latest version.

Ha, Thank you very much Tip!!! ?

After deleting the entire campaign and reinstalling the latest version I could successfully finish the first mission.

I don't know how often I flew this mission, after 25 attempts I stopped counting. ? Nevertheless I enjoyed every single flight!

Now I'm happily looking forward to the missions to come.
