E69_Soec Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) Hi guys, I got a set of Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals but I can't make them work. When I plug it to an USB, it pops a window saying something like: "USB device not recognized: the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned" I tried everything I found on the internet and I discarded a hardware problem (they work ok on other computers). In the Device manager it appears as a yellow warning sign saying "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)". Some things I've tried: - Plug it when the drivers ask for it. Here I tried the Logitech ones because as far as I know they are the same. I couldn't find the old Saitek ones. If someone could upload the old ones if possible, I'd appreciate it . Anyway I'm worried because the USB don't even get the PID of the device so I can't manually install the drivers... - Plug it to front/back/2.0/3.0 USBs... nothing - Use a power supplied USB switch So I'm about to give up. Any advice? I don't mind to try the same thing again just in case I did something wrong. Thanks in advance! Edited June 1, 2020 by E69_Soec

I tried every solution I found, but there is no change. I tried to find the error related to the pedals themselves... but nothing. That's why I asked here. Thank you!
jollyjack Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Use USBdeview, and remove all unused devices (NOT the keyboard and Mouse!). You could change the ID order with JoyID eventually. Also go into devicemanager and USD-HUB properties, swith off power management ...

The power management thing didn't work either, but thanks
Sakivano Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Hello, Soec. I had the very same problem as you a year and a half ago. For a long month I tried everything. I even formated the PC, to no avail. Nothing I could do to make it work again, so eventually I bought another rudder pedal set (not the Saitek, of course) and problem solved. It's sad but it was the only solution I found.

Do you still have them at home? I think you can repair them or give them to a friend so he repairs them. PARTIAL SOLUTION After trying everything else, it seems that the real problem is the electronic inside the pedals. I think that nothing is damaged/broken, it looks more like an incompatibility or software problem. Since logitech purchased saitek, I assume they didn't care about make old saitek compatible in the new versions of windows/drivers. Anyway, the only solution I found is to replace the electronic inside the pedals by an arduino and mmjoy2 software. The total cost is about 10€ and it's super easy. I strongly recommend to try it out before buying a new set. If someone needs help doing it, feel free to ask
jamespejam Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 Hi mate, It happenened to me too, I am trying to arduino it as well, can you share your code? I (think) can do the hardware part but I have no clue about the software part of the solution.
Guest Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 The same happened to mine, I thought the USB inside the pedals had died and binned them.

Use Arduino PRO Micro ~$5 flashed with MMjoy2 firmware, that support analog and digital contactless sensors (TLE5010/11), have embed calibration and response curves adjust.
gregorygaskill Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 OK, I spent a day on this. I actually have two of these Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals. One worked fine on the old PC and the other gave me an error on the new one. In the Device Manager listing it showed an error on the Human Interface Device for two device(s) USB and HID. In short, and I don't know how it was generated, remove the HID device, making sure to check the small box for removing the driver. It went bye bye and the rudder pedals now work fine with just the USB Pedals showing in the Device Manager.
