Thought about posting this in the Skins section but here seemed more appropriate. So I'm using some 4k replacement skins and I'm noticing an issue, particularly bad with the P-47, there is a distance where the skin abruptly pops in/out and is noticeably different from the lower level of detail  that precedes/follows it. I've seen this before in other 3d titles and even seen it in IL-2 1946 if memory serves so while it's nothing new, I'm wondering if anyone as a corrective action for BOX ("Don't use custom skins!" is NOT an acceptable answer). But seriously, is this just a limitation of the sim engine? Wondering if this might be an issue with the skin itself, alpha levels, bump maps or something. In honesty I  think all the skins do this just that the 2 levels of detail match more closely making it less noticeable. Prime example right here along with my JSGME mods: Hopefully the pics to it justice.

I too am having this same issue. I looked but couldn't find anything talking about this specific issue. Did you find a fix?

The "shine" vanishing from planes at a short distance has been like that for as long as I can remember. I'd wait to see if it is solved in the next update since it includes a major visual overhaul.
