Very simple question: is it compatible by design with Rift?

I'm new in IL-2 world.

I 'm going to buy Battle of Bodenplatte in stand alone version (Steam requires Battel of Stalingrad).

The question is: is BoB compatible by design with my Rift CV1? Or must use Steam or third party softwares to get VR?

 

I'm asking just because I found misleading informations about this subject.

You have to use Steam VR or a program called Open Composite to run it.
