Make a modifier keybinding using Joy2Key, allowing double-bindings for your throttle and joystick

I've been playing around with the program Joy2Key (JoyToKey) recently. It allows you to emulate keyboard bindings globally on your controllers. Using that, I made a button on my joystick emulate 'left-shift' on the keyboard. IL-2 allows you to modify joystick bindings with any of the modifier keys like shift, so now I can double-bind buttons on my throttle. I guess you could make up to six modifier keys in total, since modifier keys are split left/right!

One note: I haven't found a way to block joystick presses globally on my pc, so when binding keys with the modifier, you have to press the key on the keyboard and not the modifier key itself. Also, you obviously can't use your modifier keys as in-game keybindings.

For doubling/multiplying joystick buttons I recommend Joystick Gremlin. It's much more versatile. With Gremlin you make virtual buttons from your physical ones. With one button acting as a modifier you can easily double up your buttons. IL-2 supports 64 buttons from one device, so your virtual joystick can have 64 buttons even if your physical one only has 10. And you can make a "mode switch" button, for example I have a ground mode and air mode. In ground mode my MGs-button is brakes and Cannons-button is the tail wheel locker.

Or you can have your buttons act as keyboard presses, so it has Joy2Key kind of baked in as well. And much more...
