Multiplayer: Shot down planes disappear in mid-air

I don't know which patch caused this and it's not a major issue but I think it kind of ruins immersion that now planes disappear in mid-air if the pilot was killed or I think also if he bailed out. It would be great if we could see planes fall all the way to the ground like before.

I had read somewhere that in the server option you can active something like "leave destroyed object" that should fix this problem, but I'm not sure 100%
