Koenigstiger Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Hello Freaks, I would like the newly created skins to take into account the fact that from 1943 the model series of the tank models used also changed. For example, the Tiger and Panther tanks were given other commanders' cupolas with periscopes (Winkelspiegel) inserts instead of the cupolas with direct viewing blocks and carpentry to prevent hollow charge. So you can't drive a D-style panther with a camouflage pattern from 1944. Sorry that I see it so closely, but I've been dealing with the tank issue for over 50 years. It would also be nice if, for example, the "Ferdinand" - or maybe the "Elefant" from the "Bergepanther" as recovery vehicle could be used for the game - certainly a challenge and fun for everyone who was once used in the repair. Good luck Guenther 1
Cybermat47 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 I think it should just be a simple matter of pointing out that some skins are made for different versions of the same vehicle, so that people who are okay with that can use the skins, while people who aren’t can avoid them.

Contrary to the popular belief, the Schürzen were not introduced to protect against hollow charge. The skirts were introduced to protect the tanks against the 14.5mm Russian antitank rifles, that were fielded in abundance on the eastern front and could even penetrate the 40 mm hull side armor of the Panther. The skirts would slow down and most importantly destabilize the bullet before it hit the main armor. Panther 2 was supposed to come with thicker hull armor, but the skirts worked so well that Panther 2 project was canceled and they just added skirts to the standard Panthers. It was also effective against hollow charge, but that's not the reason Schürzen were introduced. We don't have a Panther A or a Panther G in the game, so we paint what we have. If you are the type of purist that don't want to see 1944 skins on a 1943 Panther, by all means, don't download them. You can only see skins you actually download and install. But you are in no position to tell others what to do with their games, in their free time. Edited April 25, 2020 by Jaws2002 5 2
