Nvidia Ampere: RTX 3000 graphics cards set for August reveal

From what I read, the 3080Ti will not come out in September. Only the 3070 and 3080. The 3080Ti it's said to come out in December. But that depends on the actual power of the big NAVI from AMD.

AMD will also bring out the RDNA2 cards together with the Zen3 CPUs in August/September as well. I hope the AMD cards are powerful enough to force Nvidia to drop prices and push the 3080ti for September as well.

S!

Will be interesting to see how this plays out between Ampere and RDNA2/Big Navi. Hopefully a good competition. Intel XE is still a big questionmark, but it could cause a stir in mid range segment.

Will also be looking for a 3080ti.

3080TI will be interesting.  2080ti is only 30% or so faster than the 1080ti, pretty disappointing for the cost of it.

That's the reason I didn't get it and i refuse to get any 2000 series cards. The jump in price from 1080Ti was obscene.  I got my overclocked 1080Ti, three days after release for $740.

The 2080Ti version of the card i got is still $1300, a year and half after release.

 They can shove it.

Anyway. Some news about Ampere.

Nvidia Ampere GPU Announcement Imminent as Jensen Huang Schedules GTC Keynote

Looks like the Ampere architecture will be revealed at GTC 2020, that will be hosted on Youtube on May 14 at 6 a.m. PT

Now remember, this is the architecture and most likely the enterprise/professional versions will come in first.

The value add was the ray tracing tech and the DDR6 upgrade.  It wasn't enough and ray tracing killed FPS in the games that used it.  If this card is 70%+ bigger than a 1080ti then it looks pretty good.

Sweet, looks like I'll have a 2080-TI for sale in September-October. Looking forward to turning my Index up a notch in the refresh rate department.

FYI you are likely CPU bound in VR and wouldn't see too much of a difference because of the IL2 single thread CPU limitation.  The 2080ti is plenty big for IL2.  The game isn't well optimized over multiple CPU cores with only one core seeing heavy use and other cores being lightly utilized making high CPU core speed the main priority.  I have the old i7-7700k which is only a dated 4 core processor, but at 5.0ghz it is a strong performer in IL2.

Multithreading in Il-2 is something like this:

Love the picture Jaws2002!?

I must say though that my 3900x really closed the gap even in games to the 9900k versus what my 2700x could do.

Not in VR. You'll need to OC it while enabling AVX instructions and then run that without it ever throttling. The 3900X doesn't even reach close to the top 5 in IL-2's VR and costs way more than those outperforming him. I doubt it's even in the top 10. It's one of those fields the AMDs aren't made for.

Sad but true.

LoL!  You need CORE1 to be jacked out of his mind on every steroid you can find.

Thank you, I am very aware of this. However more GPU will allow for higher SS rates as well as some other settings. Also, here hoping the new renderer helps.
