Little effort but for a so much higher reward.

Our Maps are nicer and more beautiful as times goes by. Atmosphere, clouds, snow, rain, sea, wind, nice scenery, mountains, sea waves, beaches rivers etc.. The more we go and the more something very important lacks, and this is life. Birds, animals, humans.

But all this needs work, Jason repeatedly tells us that resources are limited and I can understand that.

So It came upon me as I was building missions and populating maps that a very little effort could make a big change in humanizing a map.

I was thinking about some objects we have and these is the TENTCART, CART, BIKE, and ARF_ XXXX that has soldiers walking around.

But these objects are just static and standing lifeless, just as a decoration, except the humans that move around.

Now why after doing this modeling work nobody thought of just adding a horse and a man to each one. To have two versions of each and both static, no need to have it moving like a vehicle. One just the cart and second with a man and horse.

The TENTCART would have the horse and the man seated in the Tentcart.

The CART would have the same horse and the man standing beside the horse.

And the BIKE would have a man just holding the bike.

These two variants would still be static objects but they would immensely express life. They do not move, but if you see them overflying a small town, a village or besides a road, even if they do not move then visual and immersive impact is huge, it will bring life into a very sterilized and dehumanized map. There is also a typical visual effect. In a fast moving plane the visual impression is often that slow moving objects on the ground look static. This is due to the relative distance the slow moving object travels compared to the fast plane.

Modeling efforts were made to put drivers in the vehicles. There are even animated humans moving around static objects.

This is to say all is there, the human models exist as static or animated, they are already there. One exception is the horse that has to be modelled, but I have a friend who is a professional modeler and works for the film industry, that has shown things he can do with his software tools just in a matter of an hour, so I feel the horse is just a very little effort timewise.

To conclude here is my proposal that I am sure could make a huge visual and immersive change with very little effort and resources.

1) A Tentcart block object with a Horse and Man on the cart

2) A Cart block object with a Horse and a Man standing besides the horse

3)  A Bike bloc object with a Man standing holding the bike.

4) An ARF_Human static block that has only the soldiers moving around without the objects, like tents, ammunition, dugouts etc. This is even less work, just get rid of certain things that are in the block.

Can't believe I would get the same reply from Jason: no resources

The ratio here between effort over reward is just to small to ignore.

It is good to have very nice detailed maps, but as perfection goes the lack of life will become more and more visible and makes it all too artificial.

is there a way of getting more mission objects into the templates?

along the line will we get v1 and v2 sites, radar sites etc.

The windmills look nice scattered around the countryside

someone done a really cool v2 mission in cfs3,now that would be really cool ?

For the career mode on every map:

Add:

- Trains moving in the area of your flight paths (great for additional targets for strafing)

- Truck convoys randomly moving through the area

- Some more "action" near the front lines, moving tanks etc.

- Smoking chimneys in towns and villages, especially in wintertime

That would introduce some more "life" into the scenery of the career mode.
