14./JG5Medar Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 So I am just getting back to IL2 after a long draught (6-7 years) and am adding my squadron and tail number back to the planes I normally fly. I know in the old IL-2 you could go into the default skins and add these items rather easily. I cannot find where the default skins are stored in this newer version. Do you need to start with the official templates and re-skin to match some of the official skins if you like them? I have already used a few BF-109 templates and created a few .dds files, just wasn't sure if there was a way to "start" with a default skin and add a squadron logo to it (and then save it to the graphics/skins folder). Hope that makes sense. Flying IL-2 was always great fun, customizing your paintjob was another great fun
BlackHellHound1 Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 There is no longer a quick and easy system to add some numbers to the default skins like the old IL-2. You will have to make new skins with the official templates. They should come with the default skin layers (+ winter paint) so you can just add your logo/artwork and numbers. BlackHellHound1
