Hi
First of all sorry for my english, I didn't use it in the past few months.

I playing the IL-2 GB on laptop since (almost) the beginnings. I always play singleplayer campaings.  I can play the BOM and BOS without any FPS drop. Every graphic option is on the lowest level, and the FPS locked to 30. I'm already installed the newest ndvidia driver but it don't solve the problem. My issue is: I can't play the BOBP (summer, autum and spring) and BOK (all three) campaings because the FPS drops. I tried the Rheine summer map in QM and it's work fine even in 4v4, Its only do fps drop when i fly low above a greater city. Interestingly I can play the winter BOBP campaing without any major issue. When I playing I turn off every other programs in the background. Any idea what can I do?

I really want to play the full BoBP and transfer and play my soviet campaing in the Kuban. ?

My specifications:

ASUS X555L (2015) laptop

Intel I3-5010U 2,1Ghzx2

Geforce 940M 2GB

8 GB DDR3 RAM

256GB SSD

I really appreciate any kind of help guys! Have a nice weekend and fly good!

Ps: Yes, I know it's a really old laptop and I should buy I new one but I cannot afford it in the current situation. ?

I’m willing to bet your memory is an issue, especially on your video card. The textures on the summer maps are harder on resources than winter IMO and if your video card doesn’t have enough memory for the rendering it does it off loads to your RAM. Your RAM is DDR3 so it is slower than modern DDR4. That means your memory is a serious bottleneck, on top of the older card and processor. Kuban and BoBP maps are very hard on min spec machines unfortunately. You can use a program like MSI afterburner to show on your screen how much resources the game is using so you can see if you are making out your card or memory. Turning down settings and activity may help a bit.

Can you show us with a screenshot, what your game's graphic settings are?

I think "Full screen = on" is supposed to increase performance on some systems.

Another question: Is it really FPS that drops? There's a key to show/hide FPS on upper right corner. I'm asking because on my PC the CPU is usually the bottleneck in missions with many aircraft, the "tick"-rate slows down so it's like flying at half speed (slow motion). FPS stays at about 50 in these situations. For the same reason time-compression doesn't really work for me.

I will try this tomorrow and write the results.

Yes it is. I'm always watching the FPS counter on the right corner. In BOK and BOM it's almost constant 30, on BOK and BoBP it's start as 30, and after some time (from 30 seconds to 1-2 minutes) dropping to 6-10, for 0,5 sec, and back. I also have the half speed in greater battles (over 4v4). In quick mission I can fly over the summer map, but in campaing it don't work.

There's also a "Map scenery distance" for the generated missions in the Game Settings.

Well,

regarding your system's specs the settings of the graphic panel are OK. Now, if you play career mode, be sure to tone done the campaign settings:

Like this and also consider the advise from @41Sqn_Banks (btw. you have stolen my screenshot ;))

Cheers

Thanks for both of you, I already use this options but (20km in mission generate and scattered) it's still not better. I think Redkestrel is right and my computer is simply not enough for the BOK* and BoBP.  In the mean time used the Openhardvermonitor, it's not overheating, probably not enough memory...

*: When the game version was 3.xxx I played the BOK without any problem with this laptop.
