AbortedMan Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Has any sim community organization made plans or started provisions to initiate any online virtual wars yet? Just got out of a 3 hours session flying the LaGG with a newly BoS introduced friend. We had a KILLER time just winging up in the current MP dogfight setup and I keep telling him, "wait until you get into an online campaign, you'll lose your ****". Anyone got any leads?
Panzerlang Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 This is probably what you're looking for: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/5315-boswar-last-look-mission-file/
AbortedMan Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Yup, saw that, and I'm thinking that will be the prime tool for early campaigning. Just wondering if there's a group already planning something.
=69.GIAP=STENKA69GIAP Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 69.GIAP will probably run the first online intersquad campaign with LVA and some other of our habitual enemies. So far I haven't seen anyone else this far advanced. We are testing BOSWAR using Rise Of Flight at the moment. The core of the stats analysis has been operational for several campaigns now and is being updated from ROF>BOS by Tushka at the moment to take into account the small changes we have seen coming from the stats generated by the Battle of Stalingrad servers. He is also working on the parser to provide us a fast load of the Stalingrad objects into our database from mission/stats files. I am testing campaign generation through to the creation of the first campaign mission. At the moment it creates a flyable mission with planes on the airfields, moving columns of vehicles with realistinc waypoints/speeds and static vehicles, flak, objects and trains controlled by complex triggers. In parralel I'm working on adding moving trains to the moving comumns of ground vehicles. LVA Biggles is preparing a 1917 Cambrai short campaign for testing the transition from Mission 1 to Mission 2 to Mission 3 etc. This will also stress test ground combat as dozens of tanks will be attacking artilley positions and help me get my head round how to deal with a moving front line. At the moment we need to manualy adjust the influence areas inbetween missions to show the changes to the front line. It may stay this way or may be automated later. After that we have to convert the exchanges between BOSWAR and the mission editor from ROF to BOS to cope with the changes to syntax in the .Mission and .Group files. Then Myata will need to do the graphic update from ROFwar to BOSwar and tidy up the user interface which I have been messing up as I work on the functionality. Fortunately he is away on business and won't see the mess I am making until he gets back. So we are slowly making progress with some parts operational, others WIP and a To-Do list sitting waiting for the release of the Stalingrad version of the mission editor. Of course if someone dropped a selection of .Mission files in my E-Mail box we could move forward faster and then if I got my hands on an Alpha version of the mission builder... 2
AbortedMan Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Very awesome STENKA. If there's anything I can do to help, I have a couple people on-hand that can assist with basic testing/slot filling if needed. Your group's work is greatly appreciated.
