Yes folks, he's back with yet another, most likely, DOH! problem.

 

This time my bombers are not doing what I want.

They get to the target, drop their bombs (accurately) then instead of heading for the next waypoint, turn and circle the target area until I shut down the server.

 

Attached is the logic.  What am I doing wrong?

(B-25 waypoints are brought it closer to facilitate a better screenshot.)

As noted B-25 waypoints, Command Attack Area and Force Complete are all Object Linked to the B-25 formation leader.

Command Attack Area set at Medium, Attack Ground checked, 1 minute timer.  (should this be set lower?)

 

My hope is two fold, one, that someone can assist me in fixing this and two that it may helping others with similar problems and find insight to their particular issue(s).

The essential logic looks OK but it has extra, unneeded logic (see Note below). I would need to see your mission to spot any issues.

 

Note:

  • Remove 1s Area Trigger. The attack area is triggered by b25 WP2.
  • Remove 30s Deac Timer.
  • Remove command Attack Deac as it is not needed (and I'm not sure that you can activate/deactivate an attack area anyway).
  • Target link b25 WP2 to 1s FCTimer and change the timer to however long you want to wait to force complete the attack area command given to the B25s.
    Alternatively, trigger force complete with something like a bingo bombs message from the B25s or a target killed message from the target (see "Example: Attack a Factory" on pg., 119 of the manual).

DOH! indeed.  Why didn't I question the need for the 1s Area Trigger?

Now that you point this all out it makes perfect sense.

Odd isn't it how you sometimes can't see the obvious staring you in the face.

(I should have taken Elements of Logic 101 instead of Elements of Style 101 in college LOL)

?Someday....SOME day I'll get this this Mission Editor (kinda) figured out.

At this time I have a different problemas the B25s do not drop bombs when I am using a tried and tested group that works for the Pe-2 and A-20

That's a bit little to go on. Can you at least post a screenshot of the logic so that we can see what's going on? There's not much we can do to help you if this is all the information we've got :)
