=RS=Funkie Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I can't figure this out. I run OpenComposite, and choose "Switch to Open Composite" Then run Il2 through Steam. It asks me whether I want to run the 2d or SteamVR mode. Now, I thought that when I chose Open in SteamVR that the game would not open SteamVR, but it would run through OpenComposite instead. However, SteamVR opens every time. Placing the OpenComposite (openvr_api.dll) files in the main executable folder doesn't work, And because I purchased a lot of the DLC through steam, running the game from the folder Il2.exe will run OpenComposite fine, but won't have my steam linked content. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong,
dburne Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) I use Open Composite, but not the Steam version of the game. Can you tell if when you run it with Open Composite selected, if it is using it or is it actually using Steam VR? Could it be actually using Open Composite even though Steam VR is running? I'm pretty sure that is running through SteamVR, during the loading of a mission, when the screen freezes up, I see the Steam VR grid.
Lensman1945 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 When I run it using Open Composite I have to make sure that both Steam and Steam VR are completely shut down. Then I launch IL2.exe directly from a shortcut.

=RS=Funkie Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 It just opens in 2d. But It's ok, I got help on discord. The solution was to do the DLL in the game folder. (which I was certain I'd tried) Now I can just run from steam using VR option and it'll run in OpenComposite! Huzzah! 1
