Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick / Throttle and MFG Crosswind V2 are still not recognized in Update 4.05c

I'm glad that the function keys work again after the 4.05c update, but the information transfer from
the USB controllers to IL2 does not work, even though they are correctly recognized under Windows.
Even with the T.A.R.G.E.T software there is no success. Can anyone help me further?
I'm a little desperate.

I have a Warthog joystick (not the throttle) and MFG pedals, and both work in the current version (and in past ones). I don't use TARGET, just the driver and all the axes and buttons are recognised.

Does anything happen when you try to map controls in IL2 to those devices, or you just get no response? Can it be that you have "mouse control" selected as control method? (in the input devices configuration)

Many thanks for the answer. Everything worked for me before the update. I did not use the T.A.R.G.E.T
software before, as it was not necessary. Joystick is selected in the settings (IL2). When I select the
map control, the joystick control does not respond at all, while everything works perfectly under
windows or other programs (e.g. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Alpha, DCS). What could that be? Any Ideas?

No idea. Can you zip and post your input folder? It's under [game folder]/data/input

As I have the same controllers, I can compare the files with mine to see if there's something strange.

And if you did not do it already since the update, disable all mods, restart your PC and try again. Some times I've had issues with joysticks not being detected, but it was in all programs and in Windows, not only in IL2. In those cases changing to a different USB port (if possible, direct to the motherboard, not through extension cards/USB concentrators) and restarting the PC always worked.

If it worked before, a game re-install may solve it too.

And contacting support may help too ?

Check the "devices.txt" file inside the ..../data/input folder. Make a backup of that and remove it I think the game will make a new devise.txt after restarting the game. For safety make BU of the current.actions, current.map, current.responses, input.map files too.

First of all , thank you for your help. I tried it, but it doesn't work. I used different USB Ports, exchanged the files of my input folder with my security files. Throtttle, joystick and pedals are not recognized in IL2. Before the update, everything worked as usual, withou any problems.  The controllers are recognized under joy.cpl in Windows. Here's my devices.txt:

Any Ideas?

I would try the suggestion from FlyingH (deleting your devices.txt file), if you did not do it already. Do not replace it with any other file, let the game re-generate it.

I tried it, but it didn't work for me....Without ideas

What surprises me is that the function keys on the keyboard did not work for me after the update, but after 4.05c it was ok again...strange

I´m sure it should read Thrustmaster combined, or are not you using the TARGET script?

First of all i asked the support: They gave me the following hint:

Try the following:
- delete the folder "[Game folder]\data\input"
- delete file " [Game folder]\data\input\devices.txt"
- delete the contents of the folder " [Game folder]\updates"
- update the game

If you start a game from Steam:
- delete the folder "[Steam folder]\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input"
- delete file "[Steam folder]\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad \data\input\devices.txt"
- verify Integrity of Game Files - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335&amp

If you use a third-party software for joystick and pedals - temporarily turn it off
do not forget to remove the folder with the game "Read only" attribute

If the configure will work correctly, try to use a third-party software joystick and pedals.

I followed the instructions for steam users exactly. Unfortunately, the USB controller Throttle + Stick Hotas Warthog, MFG Crosswind V2 are not recognized by IL2,
even though they have been configured correctly under Windows and also works correctly in other simulations e.g. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 ALPHA or DCS(without steam).

Oddly enough, no Joy 0-2 data is inserted even when the file devices.txt is newly created. There’s only the header “configId,guid, model|”. This is a sign for me, that in my case no usb-controller is recognized by il2.

But I found the problem. I think it was caused by Steam after the Update. For whatever reason. I disconnected the controllers, the USB hub and reset the controller settings to Steam. Then I deleted the input folder "[Steam folder] \ steamapps \ common \ IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad \ data \ input" and checked the integrity of the game folder in Steam. Only then did I connect the USB controller directly to the computer (without a USB hub, after i closed steam). Steam restarted, Il2 started and ... lo and behold, it worked. Then reconnect the USB hub and everything runs fine.

Maybe this helps someone who have the same problem.
