DFLion Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) Your Staffel of Focke-Wulfs had been positioned at Achmer to protect the Me262’s during their most vulnerable time, take-off and landing. The order had just come through to take-off and protect the ‘Turbo’s’ on their way to intercept Allied bombers heading for the city of Rheine. After take-off you settled down with your Staffel watching the 3 Turbo’s successfully take-off. You warned your pilots to keep a sharp look out for Allied fighters, especially Mustangs, which had been active in the area over the past week. DF_FW190D9_Green_Hearts_03.zip Edited April 22, 2020 by DFLion I have revised the mission file to make the B25 bombers to work better over their target area. See new zip file below. 5 7
DFLion Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Hi alpenspion, You can find the III/JG54 Fw190D-9 skins on pp5 of 'Skins & Templates' under the topic JG26 skins. For the P51 skins I just searched the P51 skin files and found 4 skins under the 353rd FG, I'm not sure exactly where they were - they are: 1.353rdalabamarammerjammer 2.353rddallasdoll 3.doubletroubletwo 4.p51d-upupaepops Hope this helps you. Regards, DFLion
DFLion Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 Mission Revision V2 for 'Green Hearts 3 - 'Protect the Turbo's over Achmer' I have revised the Mission file to make the B25 bombers work better over their target area. The Me262's will now intercept them more realistically. DFLion DF_FW190D9_Green_Hearts_03_V2.zip 2 5

DFLion Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 Hi alpenspion, My apologies, pp5 is an English abbreviation for page 5 of 'Skins & Templates'. Regards, DFLion
sevenless Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Absolutely fun mission. Also played the rat catcher mission which was great as well. Small minor suggestion (just optics). The large craters across the airfield at Achmer are out of proportion with the buildings. That looks somehow odd. I would suggest to use more and smaller craters. I suggest a diameter roughly 7-10metres, that would look more like the real thing. Have you ever thought about doing some scenarios for KG 51 which flew from Rheine and Achmer? DFLion Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 Hi sevenless, Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. I certainly will be guided by those aerial pics of Achmer and the bombing patterns, there definitely were no large bomb craters on the airfield, my mistake. Yes I would be interested in creating some mission scenarios based on KG51 operating from Rheine and Achmer. Looking at the unit's history at the time, they were certainly involved in quite a few air battles covering the Northern Europe map: - 1. The Battle of the Bulge 2. Operation Bodenplatte 3. Battle of Remagen 4. Battle of Hurtgen Forest 5. Battle of Bastogne. The other interesting history about the unit, which I didn't know, was that they flew Me410 night fighters from Normandy prior to D-Day, flying intruder raids over England, especially around Allied bomber bases. With the 'Battle of Normandy' map being created and an Me410 being made, these missions would also be possible in the future. Regards, DFLion 2
jeanba Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 I flew the last version yestearday It was quite fun but the P51 were not very agressive and I shot down 3 of them. On the other hand, they were not required, because all the 262s were shot down by the B25
