CB77Don246 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Yes I know I am going to be shot down (not by a plane) but the AI in FC is the worst I have ever seen in any combat sim CFS2 is miles better I know its a WW2 sim they do not put up a fight and are sitting ducks to be shot down just what is the point of me flying in FC, even ROF the AI put up a fight. OK this has been discussed before I know but I just hope some one from IC reads this. Please don't get me wrong I love this sim WW1 and WW2 but FC is the Cinderella of the sim, and I am not going to be around to see the fruits if it takes several years. WWSitttingDuck Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 nope....totally agree with you. If you want to see it get worse, have a couple friendly Ai in the area with you...the enemy Ai just completely ignore you.
No.23_Starling Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 The RoF AI can be a challenge to boom and zoom. It’s terrible at energy fighting but actually turns and prop hangs well. This is why I have to train almost exclusively vs humans in MP now. 1

Last weekend I did do an scripted campaign, and while flying the FokkerDr, I could shot down an Se5 and a Camel, both flying straight without any maneuver. Guess what you are calling the sitting duck. I know I did have the same in RoF, short after its introduction way back in 2009, an aspect that was being improved at the same year. On the other hand at the next level an escort mission I did meet a flight of SPADs from which one did fly away, there is btw mostly one lone wolf in a flight that goes his own way. So after noticed this I went to another at his tail, keep in your mind in VR I’m a terrible bad gunner. Before I know this lone wolf that normally has its own game independent route, get me at my six and I was shot down. Now we still do not have SPADs that are trying in getting higher and will turn from the sun to you while doing an escorting mission, but I do think its not that bad and like in RoF, this sitting duck AI will be improved by 1c.

Zooropa_Fly Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I'm noticing a tendancy for the bots to fly away from the 'map' for long distances. They don't seem to be paying attention to a 2 minute waypoint (recall) timer. I've just seen an SE5 do it, being chased by a Dr1 all the way. The bots could do with breaking off a bit quicker, they can be a bit target-obsessed !
